"Boots" (Netflix) - My favourite videos/interviews with the actors
I decided to make a little collection with my favourite videos of the boots cast - mainly Max Parker and Miles Heizer, because they're my favourites. But there are many more great interviews out there - if you find another one you like, please tell me! So here's my personal collection :) (I go from short to longer interviews in this).
Ok, the first is a longer version of the youtube shorts clip. It's a tad bit longer and just so much fun, Max Parker has to guess the voices of his cast members - and this is sooo wholesome to watch, they are so funny and hot and cute, just all of them! Also I'd like to point out Max's face at 00:25 when Kieron starts shouting - he's so irritated and startled but also amused :D So entertaining!
The second one is another short but highly entertaining one - Liam, Miles and Max answer trivia questions from the 90s. Apart from the entertaining questions, may I bring your attention to the fact that Max's arm slowly but steadily wanders over to Miles' armrest and their elbows end up touching? (I know, Max is happily married and I am SO incredibly happy for him - doesn't change the fact that...I just love imagining these two together :) Also I think it's so endearing to see how competitive Max is (his little "Tsss!" when he got the "Titanic"-question right) and how invested Miles is in the music-question...and Max's expression when he's right with "Born this way" - his face and the hand gesture, ah <3
Another short little snippet. Max talks a bit about his role, Miles about working with Greg Cope White. I love how, at 03:30, Miles mentions that Greg was the first person he met from the whole crew and they even met on the flight to New Orleans - and Max huffs a little laugh at that :) Also, I squeed a bit when Max talks about the "female energy" that was missing on set with so much testosterone (around 05:55) :D I cite Max: "Boys are great but...you have to have a bit of variety" and Miles states in between: "no" :D It's a short little snippet, but the interviewer is great and very friendly and I love that statement about the "feminine energy that we all craved" <3
If you like Max and Miles, I highly (!) recommend you watching this video! It's my ABSOLUTE favourite - again, an absolutely great interviewer, interesting in-depth questions, everything is very calm...and Miles' and Max's interactions are just soooo sweet, really. They give each other compliments, I like that they sit so close together to fit in the frame. What I was most excited about as a Sullicope-shipper: At around 09:00 the interviewer talks about "a sexually combustible thing" between Cope and Sullivan and I nearly jumped at my screen XD Miles' and Max' reaction shows, that this is definitely NOT canon, but I LOVE that the interviewer adressed the thing wich I personally (don't come at me please) saw too :D They talk about their auditioning process, about the Cope-Sullivan relationship (e.g. 09:30), Max says he has a "Sullivan playlist" (!!!) around 13:30 - god, I wish I knew wich songs are on it! They talk about how "gay" the filmmaking was (16:20), Miles saying "I love brits!" (20:30) and Max's laughing after that <3 If you are a fan of Max's voice like I am, I highly recommend using headphones for this, for the full experience <3
Another one for the Max Parker fans - a very nicely done podcast (with visuals, thank god! :D), a very charming and good interviewer and some very interesting questions and personal background facts about Max - right in the first minute he tells us that he has ADHD and actually likes clear structures and schedules :) More about that topic at around 19:40. He also talks about the phonecall scene with Fajardo in the bar (starting around 06:10 - that scene did resonate with him personally), about his coming out and much, much more. I really enjoyed this interview, it's very relaxing and interesting to listen to :) Also, I think it's so interesting that the way Sullivan licks his lips in the show (like, very conspiciously, flicking his tongue out) is actually NOT acted, it's just the way Max does it (like around 09:10) - I always LOVE discovering those little things about an actor :) Also, at 21:20 he talks about his idols - "Leo" (DiCaprio I think?!) and he also names Michael Fassbender - which I also love very much and I think Max also looks a bit like a jounger version of him, especially on some pictures. Lovely interview, made me fall in love with Max even more!
This channel has a lot of great, long interviews with the "Boots" cast on their site (the actors of both Bowman-twins, Hicks, Jones). I picked this one with Kieron Moore, because that's the one I have listened to from start to finish (while painting) - and I thought it was sooo well made and very interesting. The interviewer is GREAT, asks a lot of very good, in-depth questions, is calm and lets him just speak freely - you can also feel that she loved the show based on her questions. Kieron talks about his poetry (OMG?! <3), a lot about Slovacek and Slovacek's relationships with other characters and so much more - I know, it's a looong interview, but I promise you, it's worth watching/listening. After that my love for Kieron skyrocketed, I think he's a very creative, intelligent, absolutely sweet guy.
I might update this post if I find more. I really think that there are a lot of great, thoughtful and very enjoyable interviews with the cast out there, that stuck with me as a very positive aspect. There are a lot of intelligent questions and not too many repetitions in the questions. Thank you so much for looking at this post, I hope you also enjoyed these videos <3
