First off, I love your work. Please prepare yourself for a stream of consciousness onslaught of comments and compliments: Your Calypso Twin lore is top notch. HOLY CRAP, I love when you write Leda. Also, I need to push your Typhon off a cliff and see him pin-ball rock to rock on the way down. Your writing style is SO COOL (I wish I had the wherewithal to convey everything I appreciate about your style at the moment, but 'SO COOL' is the best I'm capable of right now, apologies.) That Siren lore of yours? Brilliant, I say, brilliant!

I've been watching you kudo your way through Grimeverse. I'm so happy you're enjoying it! My goodness. Did I mention I love stream-of-consciousness comments? I love them. I also loved writing Leda, and I'm a little sad that's a finite thing in Borderlands fic.

The way Typhon's written is loosely based off of my maternal grandfather (bad grandpa); the scene in Satellite with Troy asks him if he loves him actually happened to my mother. She approved including it because she loved Troy to bits, possibly a little bit because he had a dad like hers.

Now for the bad news. I can't share a lot more of the Siren lore than I've posted because parts of Grimeverse are a collaboration with someone else and I don't want to spoil them :X. IRL has delayed this a smidge, but we have plans. Terrible plans. Plans involving megafauna and chaos. And porn, but I guess that goes without saying.

However! I can defo show you the kennings for some of the other canon Sirens.

If all the sirens were put into an arena and told to fight, who do you think would come out on top?

For fairness, I'm gonna say no using Eridium to enhance powers.

pretty much all of them have strengths and stuff that could help them avoid each others abilities ( aside from steele ).

including a restriction of not being able to leave said area, i’d probably sayyy.. angel, tyreen, amara, maya, lilith, steele.

Siren inheritance

I'm not a fan of the fact that Borderlands 3 introduced the concept that Sirens can choose who inherits their powers. I always liked the idea that it was random and that a newborn got them; leading to chaos in maternity wards across planets searching for the next Siren.

Let's go with the BL3 canon; I reckon one Siren's line would be stuck in a wealthy, powerful family. All that family needed was for Siren to be born into extreme poverty and lack opportunities. Groom them with a lifetime of money and resources, so they eventually sign away that they will give their powers to someone within that family. If they didn't fulfil their oath, whoever got the siren powers next would be hunted and face a painful death. So the family uses a combination of blackmail and bribery to get what they want. Nothing new.  

Once the powers are within a family, they would stay there, being passed down from mother to daughter or grandmother to granddaughter.

It could be a cool plot point for future games. Like a family-owned company had a Siren in their ranks for generations. Gearbox hire me.

Hey quick question,

If the twins are real, actual sirens, why the fuck are their tattoos largely confined to their arms only?

Especially Troy. Dude is tits out, we should be able to see more siren markings all down his side and shit, right? Sure he's got all that gorgeous stuff on his face, the most of any siren so far, but....it doesn't track.

U n l e s s...the semi-proven theory that the markings spread as the siren gets older/more powerful (compare Lilith's between each game) is true, in which case that would mean the twins are still heavily developing, in siren terms.
