2. What character have you most enjoyed playing in the theatre?

Macbeth. The darkness of the story that runs throughout the play always fascinated me. Macbeth is inherently evil and obsessed with power to the point that he is driven insane. I first saw it performed with Ian McKellen and Judi Dench in Wath-upon-Dearne near Rotherham and found it totally enthralling. I suppose it was always an ambition to play the part and I went on to do so in the West End. But basically, I just like evil shit!

I did this at the beginning of the summer. I had 6 friends give me their picks and tried to spice up the challenge a little. I love each of these characters too so It was a pleasure. I finished way too quickly though for it to be a real challenge.

Gandalf: So. Who broke it? I’m not mad, I just wanna know.

Sam: …I did. I broke it.

Gandalf: No. No you didn’t. Pippin?

Pippin: Don’t look at me. Look at Merry.

Merry: What?! I didn’t break it.

Pippin: Huh, that’s weird. How’d you even know it was broken?

Merry: Because it’s sitting right in front of us and it’s broken.

Pippin: Suspicious.

Merry: No it’s not!

Boromir: If it matters, probably not, but Aragorn was the last one to use it.

Aragorn: Liar! I don’t even use that weapon!

Pippin: Oh really? Then what were you doing near the arrows earlier?

Aragorn: I use the arrows to push back my cuticles. Everyone knows that, Pippin!

Sam: Okay let’s not fight. I broke it. Let me pay for it Legolas.

Gandalf: No! Who broke it!?

Pippin: Gandalf… Frodo's been awfully quiet.

Frodo: REALLY?!

[Everyone starts arguing]

Gandalf: [being interviewed] I broke it. I cut my hand so I punched it. I predict 10 minutes from now they’ll be at each other’s throats with warpaint on their faces and a Hello Kitty head on a stick. Good. It was getting a little chummy around here.
