🔄 @nursericha_ NURSE BURNOUT: symptoms to look out for Nurse burnout or compassion fatigue is such a real thing. All nursing students or nurses are susceptible to it. Burnout in turn can lead to more serious problems & it’s good to catch this early on so you can prevent any further issues. Especially now that we’ve been in a pandemic for over a year, we’re much more likely to burnout due to the social distress, anxiety and much more that this pandemic has brought into our lives. Here is some symptoms that you must catch to identify if you’re burning out & that now, it’s time for a break! 🩹exhaustion & fatigue: do you ever feel like you’re working the same as before but you’re always tired now? Even 8 hours of sleep isn’t helping? You’re dreading another 12-hour shift cause you don’t think your body can take it? These are some signs of chronic fatigue or exhaustion that you must notice. As nurses, we’re not only doing longer shifts, but we’re also alternating between days & nights, sometimes evenings. Studies have shown that longer shifts can cause nurses to be more worn out & result in patient dissatisfaction! 🩹compassion fatigue: nursing is not only physically and mentally demanding, but also emotionally. Compassion is a crucial element of nursing & especially during the pandemic where so many of patients can’t see their families, compassion and caring are needed the most. If you’ve begun to feel like you just don’t have the energy to engage in conversations anymore, are irritable, and just feel like you don’t like your job anymore- you might be experiencing compassion fatigue. If you believe that you’re losing compassion towards your patients, it is important for you to take a break! 🩹losing the passion: do you feel like you’re losing the passion towards learning more and/or you’re getting too comfortable at your workplace and don’t want to grab new opportunities anymore? This may be a big sign that you need to take a break & regain the passion that got you into nursing! Here are some signs that you must look out for! As I always say, take care of yourself first if you want to care for others! 🤍 #nurse #nurselife #scrublife #bornouniforms https://www.instagram.com/p/CNr0wFIB8lg/?igshid=1vf84t22y1tkc
