'Then let's go greet her,' the shuck smiled.
His charge smiled at him before they left the room a bounce in her steps. Victoria slowed nearing her parents room listening intently. "Do you hear anything?" she whispered.
had a dream where i was just about to be walked down the aisle on my wedding day and i asked for both of my parents to walk me down, said something like ‘I want both of my parents to walk me down the aisle to the man i love’
i was getting married to the guy from work that i like and then i woke up and realized i had just missed the buss to work
who did i have to call and say i missed the buss? that’s right the dude i like
we work at a fast food place and it was only him and i until one when another guy joined us
i didn’t have another bus until like 12.30 so he said he would come and get me at home so he didn’t have to be alone till whatever time me and the other dude would be that
Same 3 you asked me 😉
Simon Boccanegra: If you’re comfortable, tell us about a personal loss you’ve experienced and how you’ve dealt with it. If you’re not, how do you handle conflict resolution?
Well, I’ve lost both of my parents, so that’s sort of huge. My dad dying was awful and sad, but he received a terminal diagnosis and then lived for 8 months, so there was something bittersweet about having time to prepare for it all and say goodbye. (This was nearly 20 years ago now, fyi, so it's pretty easy to talk about.) And you know, we all just muddled though ok, especially my mom and I together.
My mom dying was more of a shock. (5 years ago for those of you keeping score.) She went in for a medical procedure that wasn’t supposed to be dangerous that was meant to diagnose why she hadn’t been feeling well. The procedure went wrong, and after a month in a coma, my sister and I made the decision to take her off life support. Her death I handled less well. There was lots of screaming, by which I mean daily primal screams in the car while I sobbed for about a month. (I literally hurt myself once.) But with the support of my husband and time, it eventually got better. And let’s be honest, if we’re talking coping mechanisms and not bullshitting, I wasn’t terribly sober when that was an option.
*Un ballo in maschera: What is the most embarrassing thing to have ever happened to you in public (meaning, in front of lots of people)?
Only a handful of people realized what happened, because I had an accompanist who covered my ass quite elegantly, but after throwing a shitfit that I should be allowed to sing at a function in college and then being allowed to do it, I skipped like a full page in the song I performed. I wanted to die.
Aida: Choose one memory that you want to go back in time for so you can live it over and over again.
As long as I’m talking college now, I’ve got a great day. In that wonderful liminal space where everyone is back on campus, but the semester hasn’t started yet, one year I talked three of my best friends in going to the zoo. We had so much fun, and…well, there’s a lot more to it, because it might be that I ended up being in love with one of those guys, but anyway, yeah, that was a great day.
Thanks so much for asking (and for posting the questions)!
Throwback to when I was diagnosed with Stuff, nobody told be the results of my diagnosis. I was 15, and I had to read my results on a packet myself.
Nobody decided to tell me, in person, that I had ADHD or Autism. I had to read that myself.
it’s actually kind of a miracle I’m still alive considering that 90% of the people I knew and institutions I interacted with in my early twenties went on to fuck me over completely
