You never wanted them to find this out in fear they’d treat you differently, you didn’t want them looking at you like you were some sort of savior.
You just wanted to be treated like a person, and how an unkillable hero, and not someone to run errands for them.
You just wanted friends that weren’t tied to some past you didn’t know, or have some high expectation of you.
You just wanted to be you.
Whoever that is.
They wanted to tag along with you, and they had been for a while. The twins make great travel companions, always prepared and just amazing company.
You don’t see like you’re going crazy, you have them to focus on during down times and not stew in your suppressed emotions, and spiraling thoughts.
You kept trying to keep them from Kakariko Village, coming up with as many things as possible to keep them away, but they were determined and excited to see the very people they have those locomotive plans from.
You silently prayed to Hylia that no one would say anything.
But you knew it was unlikely, you had to see Impa anyways.
The two look around the small village in awe.
“It’s so simple, yet so beautiful! Just what you’d expect!”
“Mhm! They seem to have everything they need here.”
As you three walked towards Impa’s house a few Sheikah greet you along the way.
“Everyone sure is friendly here.” Emmet comments, looking around a bit more.
“Stay here.“
“What!? We couldn’t possibly! Wouldn’t that be rude?”
You look to Ingo and the pouty face of his twin.
“No.“
“I suppose you’re right, we are outsiders to them still, maybe we can look around the shops.”
“Hill top shrine would better.“
Before they could argue one of the guards spoke up.
“It’s okay to for you to bring your companions, hero! Lady Impa would be more than happy to see you.”
You internally wince at his words before nodding, gesturing the twins to follow you.
Emmet bounds right after you with Ingo not too far behind.
“Sooo hero? What did you do to earn that around here?”
You ignore Emmet, refusing to answer his question before stopping at the top, where you’re greeted by Paya.
“Grandma w..will be happy to see you, hero!”
She’s quick to move out of your way and going back to cleaning.
The twins share a look, having a silent conversation as you open the doors.
“Ah! There you are, welcome back hero. Oh? I see you’ve brought some friends with you, that’s good to see.” The old woman smiles at you three.
“It’s an honor to meet you ma’am! I’m Ingo, and this is my brother Emmet.”
“I am Emmet!”
Impa chuckles.
“Glad to see the hero is making new friends.”
With pleasantries made Impa turns her attention to you.
“Have you been to the places the princess took those pictures of?”
“Been to a few.“
“Ah that’s good, the sheikah slate should come in handy for that. Have you visited Purah to upgrade the slate?”
“I have.“
“Excellent! You should regain all you’ve lost in no time at this rate, all you need is to find your sword that seals away the darkness. That is all.”
You turned on your heel a left, hearing the two men trip to go after you.
“Slow down!” They shout in unison.
But you don’t, you head right back out of the village as fast as you could. You don’t need them asking questions about this, you didn’t want them to know!
You manage to get just at the start of the entrance to kakariko before they stopped you.
Emmet’s face was one of pure excitement.
“You’re the hero!? You’re the hero of legend!? Why didn’t you tell us? That’s so cool! You must have so many thrilling and fun stories about your adventures and the champions!”
You stood there in silence as Emmet rambles.
Ingo however didn’t share his brother’s enthusiasm.
“You’re the hero? What the hell happened then? Where have you been for the last one hundred years?”
The two continue asking questions before falling as silent as you.
“Y/n?”
They grow concerned by the hardened look on your face.
“I don’t know, I don’t know who the champions were, I don’t know why what happened, all I know is I woke up in a chamber of some kind and was tasked with helping hyrule.”
Before Emmet could ask any further, Ingo tests a hand on his shoulder.
The two share a look, one you hate as it’s their silent conversation.
Emmet’s face grows saddened.
“You lost everything, and you don’t even remember what it is that you lost.” Emmet recalled you saying you don’t remember a lot.
But now it’s hitting hard, you don’t remember your friends, your life, or anything before waking up.
“All that stress you must’ve been under, you don’t even remember it, do you?” Ingo’s eyes gaze at you with such heartbreak.
“I have my name, and a task to do, that is all.”
You keep it short but they don’t let it up.
Emmet is the first to move, wrapping you in a tight, comforting hug. His head rests on your shoulder.
“I’m sorry for all of this.”
Ingo joins the hug.
“You deserve a break, we are sorry for all you have been put through.”
They are sorry? For what? None of this was their fault.
So why do you feel like this?
“Shh Shh it’s okay, we are here for you, and will be every step of the way.” Ingo’s voice is so soothing.
You’re confused by one of their respective hands moving up to your face, and wiping something away from your cheeks.
You’re crying? Hero’s don’t cry, you needed to stay strong and carry a front at all times.
So why are you crying? Why are you sobbing?
You grip the backs of their shirts, burying your face in Emmet’s shirt and start wailing.
You’ve never been told such things, you’ve never been held so warmly, with such tenderness.
You’ve never been allowed to express anything.
You are the princess’s personal guard and champion, that’s all you are and all you think you have been.
Never your own thing.
You can’t stop crying on them, it’s like the floodgates have been opened.
But they aren’t mad.
They softly him and whisper comforting words to you as they hold you, gently rubbing your back to help sooth you.
“It’s okay.” Emmet rubs his cheek against your soaked one.
“You’ve done so well, it’s okay to rest, we are here for you.” Ingo rubs circles on your back.
“Hero of legend or not, you’re still our friend, and nothing will change that.” Emmet smiles, cooing at your watery chuckle.
“You maybe the hero, but you’re our friend too! We are still going to worry over you, your status changes nothing.”
You look between them, blinking the tears away to see them more clearly.
They still want to be around you.
They still like you.
Saying they don’t see you any differently.
That they are still your friends.
An unfamiliar warmth fills your chest.
Your heart pounding out of your chest, from what you are unsure of.
Your wipe your tears away and nod.
“I’m tired.”
The two men laugh.
“Let’s go set up camp then!”
“I would like a nap.”
Emmet wheezes.
“Crying took that much out of you?”
“Must’ve been a nice cry, but I understand it’s tiring, let’s go.” Ingo grabs your hand and you three begin walking.
Emmet right beside you, smiling so wide and genuine.
Maybe….no, this is fine, you won’t ask for more than this.

Chapter 2: Ancient Lab Travel
“So how far is this lab?” Luz asks. She’s traveling with the group that consists of herself, Link, Impa, and the princess herself- Zelda wearing what appears to be the top half of the royal dress but without the gown and top veil and just pants and travel boots. She’s accompanied by a few knights traveling with her for her protection, with Link as her bodyguard. “Because I am starting to think it is very far.”
“It is far” Impa answers, “just not that far. The thing that you should worry about is if whatever the little guardian holds needs to be decoded. That will take a while.”
“Well, if that is the case and I am stuck until nightfall...my mom will possibly kill me ” Luz states before shivering.
“Well, you can blame the small guardian for that.” Impa snarks as she sees the small guardian trying to get Zelda’s attention “Speaking of…”
Zelda stops and looks down to see the little guardian whistling up at her. It seems to be whistling different tunes to the guardian itself. It is trying to warn them of something very important and wherever they are going is going to take valuable time. Impa lowers herself to reach out and touch the guardian, only for the thing to see it and immediately back away. It’s apparently still peeved, thus making Impa peeved as well. She tries again, and again the little guardian backs away.
“Why is it so… attached to me?” Zelda asks Impa absentmindedly. She receives no comment as Impa wonders as well.
“Maybe it knows you? Like you created it or it saw you?” Luz pipes up, moving to the two as the small guardian sees her and whistles at her as well, trying to say something to her. “Though it may be trying to tell us something, sadly I don’t understand whistles.”
“I don’t have any memory of this guardian, so that can’t be right. Though if we did understand it what would you say, little one?” Zelda asks as the guardian whistles again, trying one last time to try to get them to understand. But it was in failure as Zelda didn’t understand or remember it. She stands to talk to the others “I suppose all we can do is wait for Robbie and the others at the lab to analyze it.”
“Agreed, your highness” Zelda’s and Impa’s words fade out with Luz looking around the new environment. The mining site was built quickly and not very sturdy with the mismatched length between the platforms and such. All for finding ancient technology, specifically guardians, and Luz manages to spot one. They look like weirdly detailed upside-down pots segmented by three bases and have long claw arms, like a type of many armed monsters…..Luz shivers at the inactive machine.
“You know, seeing these large guardians in person... it gives me the creeps,” Luz states, alerting the entire group. “Like at any moment, it will jump us.” Impa, quite flabbergasted by Luz’s comment, opens her mouth to respond.
“Little one-” Impa tries to say but gets cut off by Luz.
“My name is Luz, did I not mention it?”
“Oh that is….ok thank you for that, but Luz, these guardians were made to support our coming battle with the calamity. These things will be under our control. There is no need to be creeped out by these great defenders.” Impa explains, trying to give the girl a sense of comfort rather than unease to these hulking soldiers.
“I don't know…”
Unbeknown to everyone except for the miniature guardian. A wisp of malice heading to a guardian, striking fear into its core. Immediately it beeps loudly in alarm, trying to warn someone, anyone! And both Luz and Link heard the cry.
The two look around trying to find out why the little guardian is sounding an alarm, only for Luz to see one of the guardians suddenly activating with a purple reddish glow before shooting a targeting laser that Link sees lock onto… Zelda, straight at the head. Luz immediately sprints towards Zelda, who sees the guardian targeting her, gasping in shock, but Luz pushes her out of the way right when the guardian shoots out a blue laser. Blue energy once aimed at Zelda now is aiming at Luz heading straight at her. The young girl freezes in shock with no time to move, but Link appears in time. He holds his shield out to protect Luz, but knowing that it won’t be enough to block the attack. In a desperate attempt, once the blue laser is nearly an inch away from hitting the shield, Link uses most of his strength to parry the laser. It works, sending the laser back straight towards the guardian that fired it, hitting it in the eye causing some damage, and stunning it.
“Oh, my goddess I nearly died!” Luz yells, scrambling to her feet. Both Impa and Zelda move to her to help her do it quickly.
“A Guardian? But why?!”Impa exclaims in confusion as the guardian once stunned is now moving, getting itself up looking ready to chase.
“It’s because it’s evil!” Luz yells back in panic.
“It is not evil, something is wrong with that one!” Link soon recovers from the fact he almost died and parried a laser, sees the situation, and in immediate fashion grabs Zelda’s hand, pulling her away from the incoming danger. Luz and Impa recover from their fright and see Link getting Zelda out of danger and follow them, with the little guardian following in tow, only for the little guardian to see the incoming monsters in front and whistle alarms. Everyone stops to see the incoming monster horde.
“And monsters too. Now, of all times!” Impa yells, getting frustrated.
“Isn’t this place supposed to be protected?!” Luz cries, trying to find something to fight. Beeps ring out as the little guardian gets in front of Zelda looking ready to fight to protect her, Link joins in, his hand on the sword hilt, right as Luz manages to take out a rusty but still usable sword.
“Now I’m ready! Quickly before we deal with that crazy death machine!” Luz lets out a war cry as she flings herself into battle, quickly taking down Bokoblins in her path.
Link tries to reach out to grab Luz to stop her from doing anything reckless but misses and sighs at the inexperienced girl going into battle so he joins in on Luz's carving a path through the monsters. The two attack while Impa stays behind to keep the princess safe.
“There should be allies waiting beyond this point,” Impa yelled at the two, slicing against another Bokoblin that tried to sneak up against her. “Move ahead and scatter the monsters and we may have a path!”
“On it!” Luz yells in agreement with Link nodding, continuing before seeing a Moblin in their path. “We have a Moblin!” Luz dodges an incoming attack from the beast with Link doing a backslash. The two synchronize their attack, hitting while backing with a repeat until the monster was stunned enough that they could both take it down.
“Haha! We defeated it, Link!” Luz says happily with Link nodding with a small smile. The two continue decimating the monster hoard with Impa protecting Zelda at the rear. They were following the knight and the girl through the carved path until the princess notices the slate glowing and hears it speak.
“Magnesis rune downloaded.” The sheikah slate states leaving Zelda interested in the rune.
“The sheikah slate is responding again; it says a rune has downloaded!” Zelda yells alerting everyone.
“A new rune? What does it do or look like!” Luz calls, taking down a Lizalfos that tried to slice her at her.
“It's called a magnesis rune. I, for one, would be curious if we were not in danger!”
“Wait, I have an idea!” Luz then tried to focus on what she wanted. And instantly a hard light like magnet materialized in her arms. Gasping in joy, she uses it to start attracting all the weapons from the monsters and use it against them like a sharp jagged rock hitting every monster in her path. “Ok wow! Magnesis is like powerful magnets used for offensive tactics!” Luz throws the mash of weapons at the enemies, clearing the path. She also grabs a spear from a fallen monster for extra weaponry.
“That was cool! Quick before the machine catches up to us!” The group follows the young girl and the knight, mowing down the monsters in their path.
“Stasis Rune Downloaded.” the sheikah slate says.
“Another rune is active! The name is stasis!” Zelda calls. Link and Luz see a small army of monsters ready to fight.
“You do the honors, Link!” Luz says as Link steps forward. He thinks of using stasis and soon all the monsters were frozen and glowing yellow. “Now time to attack-” When Luz hit the frozen Bokoblin it didn’t do anything, just made the glow change color a bit. “Ok, now yah!”She tried hitting all the enemies with a wide slash. It hit, but again nothing happened, except the glow turned orange!! “Ok, what is happening? This rune is...weird” But soon the glow flashes quickly, a dong sounds, and all the monsters stop glowing and are launched backward like cannonballs, hitting other armies of monsters and making more clear paths.
“Ok, that is how it works…..good to know. Now, time to continue!” Luz moves forward, continuing through the path to encounter an ice Wizzrobe who looks at the approaching group and sends out an ice barrage.
“Whoa!” Luz dodges the attack and goes in to fight the beast only to back away with an ice blizzard attack. Link approaches and gets a few hits in before retreating a bit from an incoming ice attack. The Wizzrobe, now having its attention on Link, attacks him with another blizzard attack, leaving Luz to spectate. Link gets some hits on the monster while dodging its attacks. Meanwhile, she didn’t even hit the Wizzrobe. But she sees how quickly Link is dodging each attack. But then the ice wizzrobe teleports out of melee range and starts a weird dance.
“Huh?” Luz watches the Wizzrobe in confusion.
“Everyone take cover, it’s going to unleash a blizzard!” Impa yells running off to escape the strong attack.
“Oh no, you don’t!” Luz yells, determined to stop the Wizzrobe, but doesn’t have anything to throw at...or does she? With a quick thought, and thanks to the small guardian, a bomb rune appears! Luz throws it at the Wizzrobe who is focusing on preparing the spell and did not see the bomb heading towards it. Boom! It explodes on contact stopping the spell. The Wizzrobe falls to the ground, dazed. “Quick! While it’s down!” Luz hacks at the monster, trying to take it down. Impa joins in quickly with Link protecting Zelda. The two slice against the now awake Wizzrobe, stunning it again. The two finish off the Wizzrobe with a silent strike from Impa and a yell from Luz, leaving only an ice rod behind.
“You have a fighter’s spirit. You can be a great knight someday,” Impa tells Luz, impressed by their teamwork.
“Thank...you? I’m more of an artist though.” Luz says as she recovers from the final strike. “The path is clear, quickly!” Impa nods as the group continues to the monster camp blocking the path.
“A monster camp dead ahead!” Impa alerts the others, spotting the monster horde. The three get to work on eliminating the enemies, but then the monster head honcho appears with a hammer and decides to throw it at Impa.
“Don’t worry I got this!”Luz calls as she uses the magnesis rune to catch the hammer and throw it back at the large Bokoblin, stunning it from the blow.
“Now Link!” Link nods and takes the opening. He slices the Bokoblin and throws it against the gate, killing it and forcing the gate open.
“Ah! We got an opening!” Zelda comments. The group takes the clear path towards the allied camp.
“We came all this way. We should be safe now…I think...” Impa says as the group approaches.
“Uhh, I have a bad feeling about this, guys!” Luz calls just before the corrupted guardian they were running away from bursts from another path, destroying the wall of the camp. It again targets Zelda, only for a spear to hit its eye courtesy of Luz, causing the guardian to target her instead.
“Ruuunnn!!!” Luz shrieks, giving the group an opening as the guardian tries to turn the girl into a pancake using one of its arms. Link hesitates, trying to decide between protecting Luz or escorting Zelda to safety.
“What about you?!” Impa cries at Luz.
“Luz, do not engage the Guardian! Its power is too great. It won’t end well if we all fight it, no doubt worse for you!” Zelda pleads.
“Someone needs to distract it! Go! I'll be fine!” luz yells, dodging another spin by using stasis to stop it. “Just find a way to stop this thing!” Link reluctantly nods, motioning everyone to escape as Zelda and Impa hesitate.
“That girl is either very brave or very stupid,” Impa says emphatically as she follows Link and Zelda away from the guardian.
Luz dodges the hits from the corrupt guardian trying to kill her, grabbing another spear. She dodges a laser blast, but the guardian notices Zelda is not in the area. Realizing it has been tricked it ignores Luz and follows the other path, leaving Luz behind.
“Huh? Wait...No! Hey! Don’t ignore me!” Luz starts running, trying to get its attention and failing. The group immediately notices the chasing guardian. Seeing Luz behind is a sign of relief but means she didn’t distract it long enough to find a favorable solution.
“Nothing I see can help with dealing with the guardian!” Zelda says, trying to think what to use to stop the rogue guardian from killing.
“What can be done?! That thing is relentless!” Impa says before looking back to see the guardian continuing to chase them with no hints of stopping.
“Is there no hope of escape?”
The answer came from the small guardian who was following them, who soon saw another deactivated guardian. It had an idea and with the whistle of the ‘Song Of Activation,’ the still guardian soon awoke, glowing orange, and immediately targets the corrupt guardian. The shot throws the corrupt guardian off its legs and damages it. Luz dodges the prone guardian and quickly rejoins the group.
“Incredible! The little one has saved us!” Zelda exclaims at the little guardian.
“It used the guardian's power against it! There is like a huge chunk of damage on that covering!”Luz exclaims, catching up to them. “If we find more of those to use we could defeat the guardian!”
“There are more guardians nearby! Perhaps we can activate them too?” Impa suggests.
“That sounds like a great plan! Any guardians we activate can take on the rogue!”
“We’ll buy you some time! Use it to prepare a counterattack,” one of the soldiers says as the guardian picks itself up.
“On it!” Luz states, preparing the spear “Time to activate some guardians.” Luz runs to find some with Link going to join her but is stopped by Impa.
“You have to protect the princess. I can help protect Luz.” Link hesitantly nods. With the confirmation, Impa follows Luz while Link stays with Zelda.
Impa joins Luz this time, feeling a need to protect the girl. She catches up and Luz exclaims, “Oh, Impa! You’re helping me?”
“More like trying to keep you out of danger,” Impa responds.
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“Luz, that was the stupidest thing you’ve ever done, taking on a guardian by yourself?!” Impa reprimands Luz with a quick slice against a few Lizalfos to keep them out of their way.
“I was trying to distract it, not fight it….it ignored me a few moments later.”
“That was still dangerous. It could have killed you. How would I explain it to your parents if that happened?!” Impa defects an attack and counters with her own.
“Well, adrenaline can do that to you. Heh.”
“Luz this is serious! I don't want blood that could be avoided, an-”
“Look out!”
Impa is interrupted by Luz as she pushes her out of a lightning strike from a smiling Wizzrobe. Impa recovers, quickly getting into stance.
“An electric Wizzrobe? Great! Stay behind, I’m going to take it out.” Impa commands, preparing to fight the enemy.
“What? I dealt with worse.” Luz argues, brandishing the borrowed rusted sword, prepared to attack as well.
“Not this time! You are still inexperienced with using a weapon; you were not even using the spear correctly.”
“I should get Mipha to teach me to wield spears later. But still, Link and I dealt with an ice version of those things- speaking of which, boom!” She takes an ice rod she got from the defeated ice wizzrobe and uses it against it, freezing in place “It’ll be easy to hit now!”
“...ok then” Impa sighs. She slashes against the frozen wizzrobe with Luz getting a few hits in. Soon the monster is defeated and Luz grabs the dropped electro rod.
“Boom we did it! Now let’s go find those inactive guardians!”
‘Honestly, I don’t know how Link is able to keep up with her,‘ Impa thinks, sighing again as she follows Luz.
“I see a mining site, would there be guardians there?” Luz asks Impa, who looks over the area a bit before seeing one on a makeshift wood floor.
“Possibly and I see one over there,” Impa added the two going to check on it and much to their delight there is.
“Haha! This may work! All we need is the egg guardian.”
“Egg guardian?” Impa asks
“You know, it looks like an egg,” Luz answers, and, speaking of it, the little guardian managed to catch up to see the inactive guardian. It uses the ‘Song of Activation’ to activate the guardian, the machine locks onto the corrupted guardian and shoots at it, causing great damage, with its shell more burnt and cracked but angrier.
“Hey, it is starting to fall! We may need one more to destroy it!” Luz added
“ There is another mining site where we can activate another. Let’s go.” Impa nods with the egg guardian whistling heading to the other mining area.

“We got a message from the captain. There are even more monsters on the road to the lab now… we can’t make it through like this.” the captain explains to Link and Zelda. “We may need to wait, but that is risky.”
“Then I will fight too!” Zelda states resolutely, taking out a small item and placing it on the Sheikah slate. “ I cannot simply stand by and watch! If I use the sheikah slate creatively, I'll be able to fight by your side!”
“What?! Princess that is too dangerous!” the captain argues,” We can just get Impa and Luz to do so.”
“They are busy and the guardian is close behind. Besides, I have Link,” Zelda argues. The captain looks at Link. He shrugs, but the two look back to the princess already going to join the battle. Link quickly follows to protect her.
A small horde of monsters is traveling through the path looking for something to destroy. They spot the two Hylians and rush to kill them, only to be stopped when a metal crate explodes out from the ground, killing a few Bokoblins in its path. Then an ice block rises, making more enemies fly, before the one with the sword steps in, taking down Bokoblins left and right. The Moblin tries to stop the knight before being in stasis.
“Aha! It seems with the control unit I fixed up, gives the slate a boost in power. Now take this!” Zelda yells as she uses magnesis to rip a metal block out from beneath the dirt and swings it against the Moblin, knocking it out but not dead, “It wasn’t taken out? Then I will continue!” The large beast gets back up and, furious, it roars and throws its metal hammer at the princess, but she’s prepared for the attack and uses magnesis to catch the hammer-like Luz did, throwing it back and stunning the Moblin.
“It’s stunned now to finish it” Zelda stasis the beast but as she going to bomb it Link came in and slash it dealing a huge chunk of damage and momentum, he quickly gets out of the way for Zelda to full-on swing out with a Magesis hold metal block finishing it, the few Bokoblins retreated Leaving Link and Zelda “while I didn’t need your assistance...but thank you for it” Zelda states feeling a bit begrudging with working together. Link nods But an explosion was heard far startling the two.
“Was it from the guardian? Zelda asks Link who shrugs, “I don't know either-wait Impa! I need to see her!” Zelda sprints to see if Impa is ok Link follows for the princess' safety while also worrying for luz’s.

“Another guardian activated! Now it will feel our wrath!” Luz yells, waiting for the laser blast, but nothing came. “Why isn’t it firing?”
“The guardian seems to be out of range, we need to bait it out there!” Impa explains.
“Well, then who’s going to be the bait? We are far from the guardian unless we head downwards, but it would lead to our doom.” Luz adds, looking over the open platform to the area far below. “Unless we have something to slow down our fall.” Impa looks over to the cliff railing and has an idea, but sighs.
“I have a way, but please don’t be the bait.” Impa implores.
“Then who is?”
“Someone with experience, like me, Now get on, we are getting down quickly.” Luz nods, about to climb onto Impa’s back but Impa stops her. “Not the back, the front.” Impa corrects her.
“Oh uh… I don’t know, isn’t it...well...”
“I don’t mind.”
“Ok then.”
“Just hold on tight!” Impa sprints and jumps off the platform. As they fall Impa grabs something behind her back and a giant cloth opens up, slowing down their descent.
“Oh M-...you have a glider! That's awesome!”
“Why do you think so? it’s just a glider”
“It’s because Mipha has a paraglider, and I always want to see and feel how it is used”
“Oh...that makes some sens-Wait you mean princess Mipha of the Zora?” Impa asks shocked and confused about the girl’s connections
“Oh hey, You know her! Yeah, she is great. I was going to see her before all this happened- oh hey we are close to the ground!” Impa lands and Luz gets off “I will explain more later right now you need to bait it!”
“Right, just now where is it?”
“Follow the destructive path?”
“That works.”
The two follow the destructive path and quickly find the guardian fighting against the few knights who are standing against it and not dealing with it well only for a rock to be thrown at the head causing it to turn around to see who did it. Luz then points at Impa.
“It was her.” Luz simply said as she quickly runs and hides leaving Impa.
“Wha- why yo-oh wait I said I was bait...” a targeting laser soon lands on Impa by the corrupted guardian “oh Hylia!” She quickly dodges the laser blast and runs towards the activated guardian. With Luz hiding, she pops out and quickly chases after the two.
Quickly Impa dodges another blast, it clears the path of monsters for her to continue running, looking afar she can see the area where the activated guardian is in range and runs faster.
‘Come on just a few more steps’ the Activated guardian quickly targets the corrupted guardian and blasts it. Taking the machine out.
“Holy!- it’s dead! Woo!” Luz yelled coming over to see if Impa is alright and sure enough she has no burnt item on her “And look at that! You’re ok!”
“Yeah, no thanks to you…..though that was pretty funny in hindsight.” Impa admits, laughing a bit before stopping and looking at Luz.” We never talk about this.”
“Why? The laugh was good!”
“I am trying to be professional, it is unbecoming of a chief.”
“That sounds boring, why not just be yourself?”
“Listen, it is complicated to say, you see….”
While the two argue they didn’t see the guardian slowly getting up turning its head towards the two but the egg guardian does and whistles in alarm.
“Ok that makes sense but that doesn’t…..alarms, oh Hylia no.” Luz calmly yet fearfully says with Impa Looking at it getting up with horror. The three back away slowly, Impa and Luz draw their weapons, ready to fight though with how much the damage guardian took, it might be best that their weapons might not do a lot as well.
The corrupted guardian stands upright looking at the two and sees Luz and laser targets her.
“Oh dear, it seems interesting to me now ahh!!” Luz screamed as she and Impa dodge a laser blast before seeing the guardian go after Luz. Impa seeing the event gets up to protect Luz before a blur past her which stops her.
Luz dodges another blast and a claw strike trying to not get hurt, but didn’t see that she is trapped, as a wall of the stone environment blocks her. She turns around to see the guardian cornering her; a laser targets her. Luz looks around frantically trying to find a way out only for Link to come in and quickly get the guardians attention by having a small volley of arrows hit the shell cracking even more, turning around to see the knight and in pure anger as well. Luz quickly scampers to Link’s side, sword drawn high, a newfound determination upon the two.
“Do you have any ideas?” Luz asks
“Do you?” Link asks back
“I do, you try to do as much damage as possible while I use the runes to give an advantage.”
“Alright sounds good to me.” A laser homes in on Link who sees it is the guardian targeting Link now, “and it seems we are starting now.” Calmly as ever Link waits for the corrupted machine to laser him, once it happens he parries it back again like last time. The laser hits straight at the eye causing more damage but not going down. It tries to smash Link with one of its arms only for Luz to slash at another arm. Deciding to try to take two in one attack, the guardian jumps high and slams down causing a shockwave. But Both Luz and Link dodge it quickly, running out from the area. Once the corrupt guardian gets up it looks around only to see an arrow straight at it, as it hits the eye stunning it momentarily but stasis stops it from moving.
“Everyone whale on it!” Luz yelled, giving everyone in the area to hit, smash and slash the guardian while in stasis, but soon the timer began to go faster getting everyone out, as the stasis timer is up the guardian gets all the slashes and hits in one and stops stunned and ready to go down.
“Let's finish this!” Luz yells as she and Link both ready themselves and both strike in unison. Luz hits the gears in between while Link hits through the shell. The two stop to see the corrupted guardian stuttering and shutting down as it starts to glow, cracks of light getting out. Link sees this and covers Luz as the guardian explodes, parts falling.
Link lets go of Luz to see they have survived and destroyed the rogue guardian. Link puts his blade in the hilt as Luz laughs happily, with Impa and Zelda coming out to see the two alright and the egg guardian whistling to the group, happy to see everyone alright as well.
“Oh yeah! Luz Noceda! Survive two attacks from dangerous tech and monsters wahoo-Oh...going down” Luz pales as she falls onto the floor again, shocking Zelda.
“Oh my!!- is she alright?!” Zelda worryingly asks looking over to the downed girl.
“Oh yea I didn’t mention that, your highness, she’s alright just in pain and tired from doing all of the fighting,” Impa quickly calmed down the princess.
“Why are you calm Impa?! She is in pain!” Zelda states, flabbergasted from the lack of worry from her and Link.
“I’m Back! Sorry, everyone.” Luz yells coming back lively as last time spooking Zelda a bit “it seems it wasn’t as painful as last time.”
“Oh, dear Hylia…”
“Yep, it happens to all of us princess” Impa admitted.
“Oh….Okay...let’s continue, everyone, we are close to the lab now” Zelda stated as the small group and knights proceed. Unaware there was something sinister looking over them, red-eye looking at the group leaving. A small guardian looking similar to the other but dark and emitting malice, the battle seeing it lost... decided to start new plans. It left with its three legs scurrying off to somewhere else, unaware of anyone noticing its presence…. Well… except for Luz who looks back and stops for a moment before shrugging it off and following the others.

The Ancient Lab, a place of research and development of ancient Sheikah tech is done, thanks to several Sheikah scientists and researchers and none other than two head researchers have done great development and is now the place to find out more about the mini guardian.
“This is technology the likes of which I’ve never laid eyes on!” Link, Zelda, Luz, and Impa, onlook the small guardian standing on the table, have their attention drawn by one of the head researchers exclaiming comments. He’s wearing ancient tech goggles and a power box, and he claps his hands on the small guardian, spooking it a bit. “Which means...We’ve got ourselves a brand-new, never-before-seen GUARDIAN MODEL! HEE-HEE!”
“So what does that mean? Uh….” Luz tries to ask the researcher but doesn’t know his name.
“Robbie, my little friend,” Robbie answers “and what it means is devices like the Sheikah Slate, which are amplified by the power of such ancient relics, are but a meager fragment of such technology.”
“I see… that explains why all of us were able to use the Sheikah slate.” Impa quickly caught on.
“... I don’t get it,” Luz flatly states, but it was immediately ignored when Robbie came in again with an awesome point pose
“In addition...this here doohickey is loaded with data- information we can’t even fathom!”
“Aw, yeah Check it!” Another tech researcher walks in with the slate in hand, one female in voice and looks and does an action pose with two open fingers next to her face. Everyone was quiet and didn’t respond with Impa looking away embarrassed but Luz.
“Check it!” Luz responds by doing the same pose as the female researcher, smiling.
“Oh, dear Hylia there’s two of them,” Impa says, appalled, seeing the two looking more similar to each other in personality now.
“She gets it, hey kid what’s your name?” the female researcher asks lowering down to see her at eye level.
“Luz, and you?” Luz asks
“Purah, nice of you to check back,” Purah answered when Luz was about to respond Impa interrupted
“Purah” Impa states looking at her with a look of impatience and awkwardness to that Purah coughs a bit and resumes
“I extracted some visual data from the guardian’s memory,” she explains, handing the Sheikah slate to Zelda. She sees something that catches her breath hard.
“Is that…” Zelda questions fearfully and is answered by Purah.
“Yep, no doubt about it. Hyrule castle after Calamity Ganon has been revived.” Images in the slate depict towns and villages up in flames and a purple-black haze around.
“As you can see, we managed to extract some of the data, but much of it was fragmented” Robbie adds onto what Purah mentioned. “Even so, if I analyze what we received, I may able to make sense of more of it.”
“This is… ruin the Calamity will bring upon all Hyrule. If we allow this to pass, I fear all hope will be lost,” says Zelda, solemn at seeing what might happen if the calamity wins.
“Even everything we’ve done up until now...likely won’t be enough…” Impa amidst as well.
“If I don't succeed...at sealing the Calamity...Never. This will not come to pass.” Everyone falls silent after the statement Zelda made at the information received; something needs to be done.
“ Wait, if this egg guardian came from the time this ‘Calamity’ struck and it came back in time to warn us,” Luz stated, thinking about how everything transpired, surprising everyone in the room “that means... you understand what happened! That means if we find a way to understand you, you can just tell us instead of going through your broken memories!” The little guardian whistles in agreement.” I will take that whistle as a yes! Ok, does anyone have any ideas on a translator of some kind?”
“Huh… never thought of making a guardian translator... that could work,” Robbie says, trying to think it up. “Hmm. despite some obstacles it could work.”
“I don’t know, we do need to find a way to translate its sounds into words, it might be impossible” Purah adds doubtfully.
“It might be possible.” A voice was heard from the offside. It was a Sheikah girl wearing glasses. “Oh sorry to intrude, but I heard about understanding, does it mean communicating with the miniature guardian?. Oh dear me, sorry, I didn’t introduce myself. I am Bell, assistant of Purah and Robbie”
“Bell? I thought I told you to get some rest, why are you still here?” Robbie asks quite confused about the assistant still being here.
“Well I was...until I got sidetracked with some problems with parts of the guardians that needed to be fixed or replaced...hehe….but I heard you are trying to translate what the little fella is saying?”
“Yeah, it was kinda my idea heh” Luz admitted.
“Well, I think it could be done. All it is needed to do is figure out what patterns and tones it uses to understand, it can take a long while, but it can be cracked.”
“Are you sure about this?” Impa asks.
“If the guardian is making different noises, it is speaking,” Bell states, and to prove her point the small guardian whistles different notes.
“Well, that settles it, Bell. You will take part in translating the guardian’s tunes, think you can do it?” Robbie asks tone always in tune.
“Yes, I do… I think” Bell admits.
“Well, that sounds like a good plan. We can deal with restoring the memories for more details while you make the translator,” Purah added, “but now that it has settled, go back home and rest Bell! You are going to need it!”
“On it, I’ll be leaving!” Bell says nervously as she leaves.
“Purah, Robbie, who was she?” Impa asks, still looking at the exit.
“She’s our new assistant, came in with the rest of the rest of the research team, and been a great help too.” Purah answered her sister “Why?”
“Ehh it is nothing to worry about” Impa pushes it aside.
“Well, that is one surprising thing I heard from you, whenever you have that look, you are always suspicious of something or someone.”
“Hey it’s called being cautious”
“It’s called being overly smothering little sis”
“Don’t you dare use the sibling rank!”
“Well seems like they are now bickering again. Best you guys and the princess leave here. It is going to take a while,” Robbie comments and advised the group to leave.
“Well we do need to return to report our findings, farewell Robbie,” Zelda says as she, Link, and Luz depart back with the little guardian following behind.
“See ya, princess,” Robbie states, seeing them off.
“And another-wait….oh princess, wait for me!” Impa pleads as she runs up to catch up to them.

Hyrule Castle Town:
Luz stands outside Hyrule castle putting in a few new supplies in her makeshift backpack before strapping it on. Onlooking the castle for a small while before sighing and leaving Castle Town.
“Well, that ends that, can’t stay away from the domain forever,” Luz solemnly says before sacking it off “My mother must be worried sick about me. Better start now and hope I reach the domain before nightfall.” She takes out the map of Hyrule “now Impa said that I must take the path to the domain, I must go left and head where... again?”
“The stables where they tell you to head the path to the domain,” Impa's voice says. Luz jumps in shock and looks up from the map to see her, Link, and Zelda with a few knights behind. “We are heading to the domain now actually, important business with the king, you can come with us if you want.”
Luz looks at Link wanting to know about his opinion he shrugs but has a smile on his face. It was enough for her.
“I’m in!” Luz yells out happily, joining the group once again, with her looking down to see the egg guardian whistling at her happily. “This fella is happy to join this comradery.”
Everyone was joyous at the ball of young energy that is Luz joining with the group again while Zelda contemplates what happened.
‘Above all else, your duty is of the utmost importance. Are we clear...’ a voice rang out in her mind, one of authority, her father- King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule. She shook off the negative feeling in her and looks upon Luz again, still herself, she giggles a bit before putting on a calm demeanor.
“Let’s go, everyone. To the domain” Zelda commanded, so the group was off once again to recruit the champions.

Basically, they're cousins and children of pro heros so they were both pressured to become heros from a young age. Zelda's quirk didn't manifest so her dad sent her to train with link (who's quirk very much did manifest) for about a year. At the end of that year, disaster struck, and in one night all of links family died, Zelda finally unlocked her quirk, and link disappeared. A year or two later, Zelda goes to the hero school (I don't remember the name ー_ー) and sees a very familiar face she hasnt seen for a long time. Problem is, link doesn't remember a thing before the disaster, and Zelda's not great with expressing her feelings so. Whoops lol. But yeah that's the basic plot, who even knows where or if this will go anywhere lol
