Writing friend: I need help with a character coming up with a nickname for her crush that they don't know their name.

Me: ah, ok. What's the first thing they notice about their crush?

Them: their scent *sends sentence*

"He smelled like what I would have imagined my forest to be, wild and earthy with a hint of honey."

Me: ok so, that covers pine, rosemary, possibly vanilla, and of course honey notes.

Them: .....ya

Me: Mr. Yankee Candle

Them: *cracking up*

Me: Sir Mainstay, Lord Seasonal Evergreen, Count -

Them: 💀💀💀💀

I was thinking about "The villain and the vigilante" where Nick is the villain who steals money from the government and gives it to the citizens, like Robin Hood and his wife is the vigilante who works for "people" not really the government but never steals or acts like Nick.

Or sth like that 🤷🏽‍♀️

Ah, that's a cool idea. I like it very much.

I'm already one and a half chapters into the story and it will be like in the movie.

The growth mindset

Lately I have been sobering up from what feels like at least 3 months long spell of self-doubt, anxiety and depression. It is probably sad (seasonal affective disorder) or maybe something deeper. I don't know. But I do know how inconvenient it makes normal life. And I trauma-dump my besties when this happens. Basically, it sucks.

However, I feel better gradually. This past week I have reflected a lot on where I am and how I react to situations. It is not cool. I can do better. I can regulate emotions better. I think I have my finger on it but my worry is that I'll lose this insight and perspective if weather worsens. I am in the growth mindset now but I can relapse to less ideal mindset quickly if a trigger happens. I wish there was a way to circumvent that.

I hope this time the growth mindset lasts longer and helps my executive function. I hope. I really, really hope.

They were okay. I can tell they were recorded off another device. The sound quality is the most problematic bit for me because sometimes my auditory comprehension goes out the window and I can’t understand things, but it was clear enough that I got the important details.  I generally don’t go back through my blog to prune away old posts even if the content is gone because I have, like, several hundred thousand posts and if I checked them all for broken links, I’d never get off Tumblr. I feel like body swap plots have a lot of intriguing aspects, especially in stories with explicit or implicit romance because you really get a feel for the character’s synergy when they have to work together to make sure no one knows they body-swapped or while they try to undo the swap. It also usually plays a very literal “walk a mile in their shoes” lesson out which I do also like. Characters learning to have sympathy for what the other has to go through is always fun. But I think body-swaps that deal with M/F couples are always a little weird when they play up the whole “you have different genitals now” parts. Because they always lean SUPER HARD into the guys wanting to grope the girls’ body now that they inhabit it and have unobstructed access. I think same-sex body swaps are a bit more interesting because they don’t lean so heavily into “my body is different now” so much as “my EXPERIENCES are different now because everyone treats me like the person I changed into.” They did a body swap episode in Magical DoReMi or whatever it was called a long time ago when I was a kiddo that I kinda like, but the part I remember is the MC’s friend who’s inhabiting her body makes a paper crane and everyone is shocked because it’s a perfect crane and the MC is usually AWFUL at making them neatly. The only other part I remember is the MC who really liked steak wanted to eat some and then was informed that the person her body swapped with was a vegetarian and she was upset. XD But, yeah, I’m not opposed to body swaps per se, nor am I opposed to leaning into the whole “new body, nice tits” cheeky side. Like, if there was an overtly sexual Richter/Emil bodyswap I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t be into it. But because anime meant to be broadcast in any meaningful way CAN’T touch on the actual interesting sides of “I’m in the person-I-love’s body” or any of the interesting dynamics of those two characters experimenting with each other’s bodies, there’s very little appeal in watching them skirt around that side of the subject because it always comes off super awkward. Because instead of the characters genuinely being interested in how their bodies work or how things would feel different now, it’s ALWAYS the dude trying to be a pervert and the girl having to constantly block him from violating her body. I much prefer “Let’s explore each other intimately with consent” or “Oh cool, I’m in X’s body. Nothing weird about that!” instead of the pervy in-between with one dude just being a creep and the girl having to protect her body. Which, again, is why I like same-sex bodyswaps better. ESPECIALLY because it avoids the whole issue of autogynephilia and how that sort of plotline tends to be transphobic.  But just on the surface level, heck yeah, body swaps can be totally funny and I’ll take a look at the BlazBlue one. Also I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to do a bodyswap with Richter and Emil now, both safe-for-work and NSFW versions because, honestly, there’s a lot to go off of. That being said, I have seen one or two Aster/Richter bodyswap art pieces that always had me thinking that Aster could absolutely get away with being Richter for a day and Richter would utterly fail at being Aster. XD Aster would get WAY too high off the power of getting to intimidate the hell out of everyone with just a glare and would be so sad it doesn’t work when he’s back in his original body because he’s too cute and baby-faced to be scary.

wooooooo ok where do I start? Hi, I'm Belle, and I love Halloween! For Halloween season this year, I'm going to try and get together with friends for a photoshoot! The theme is creepy old-fashioned ghosts! however, there are lots of ways you can go with that- 

Here are some rough concepts I came up with. But I'd feel a lot better bouncing ideas off of other people to make it great! Since I don't know what exact dress I'll have (what exact skin areas it'll cover, what props I might want), at this point I'm just wanting a general direction to go in with theme and makeup. So which ones do you like best? Any deaths/inspirations you think would be even cooler as an old-fashioned ghost?? Details you think "aw man I can't believe she didn't do ___"?? Let me know, I want to hear what you think! I know it's a far ways away, but with something like this, the sooner I start, the more time I have to get it down perfectly. Er, well, as perfectly as one can get. also sorry I might share this a couple times just to get lots of ppl seeing it.

 I've named the themes Betrayed, Tortured and Medical. Let me know if you need clarification on anything too or if you can't read my chicken scratch notes.
