Have you ever drawn the ink demon? Love your comic btw🤭
I doodled a smidge of him today, actually!
Hey Diana, are you okay? That was quite a first impression of the overworld, huh?
“It’s too much of a first impression, really.”
Funny, your a girl kisser? You barely don’t know how to kiss Doris.
Welcome, welcome!

Hai!! I freaking LOVE UR ART N UR COMIC!!! I wanna ask, how did u improve ur art?? Like: anatomy, composition, colors, etc.. do u have any tips?
Hi!! :] THANK YOU!!!! Here are some guides I made a few months back on how I do things! These might help! If there's terms you don't know, definitely look them up and look into them :D
A lot of artists like to just say "practice every day" and while that does help (I mean, I draw every single day too!) I'm going to offer some extra tips on things to look into for both comics and art in general below! These are just some things I noticed that personally help me when I draw and help improve my comics/art whatnots. Take what applies to you! For art:
Making lineless illustrations using lasso tool was the BEST and fastest way I personally improved. I make it a goal to push my full artistic potential with illustrations once a month or so, because when I put my art skills to their full test, I end up coming out with solidified skills and recognize areas I can improve!
Repeat the point above. That has genuinely helped me improve at such a fast pace!!
DON'T BE AFRAID TO MAKE THINGS SMALLER!! I think I mentioned that above, but that was a game-changer in my art. Sometimes things didn't come out the way I wanted to because in my head, I saw a full canvas, but when I drew it, it was too zoomed in. Downsizing and zooming out my art helped a LOT for being able to paint the full picture I want, especially in comics and illustrations!
USE ANATOMY REFERENCES! They help!! A lot!! After drawing, I also tend to go back after a few days or a week, pull up references, and fix my old art using the references to make the faces/bodies look more accurate. Stepping away from your art and retouching it later with fresh eyes is super helpful in identifying areas you can improve! Below is an example of that. Old on the left, revised one on the right...
It ended up being the eye, nose, and mouth placement! Also the horns I accidentally made too big the first time. Unfortunately I am legally blind, so I tend to make these sizing and depth perception mistakes a lot as I can't see too well- but that's why I go back and fix 'em! Another example of a week's difference using references:
Seriously, touch up your art while looking at anatomy references! It helps a ton to see what you did wrong, and how you can improve it! :D For comics, some misc paneling tips:
Avoiding tangents with speech bubbles and the panel box, and since most readers read left to right, have your speech bubbles follow that order.
It can be helpful to change the perspective with each panel so that the reader isn't just staring at the same front view angle of a character for a whole page (unless intentional). It keeps the page interesting! But do this when you see fit!
The longer you want the reader to look at a panel, the larger or more detailed it should be!
Do your speech bubbles first. It sucks to draw an entire panel and then realize that you've gotta cover half of it up :(
Also speech bubbles can be used cleverly! For example, since Sinny's face is not going to be revealed until late Chapter 1, I actually used the speech bubble in Page 37 to hide it! I'm unable to draw these out myself right now because of my illness flaring up, but I have a Pinterest board dedicated to paneling and saving paneling tips. Here are some of the things I was referencing above! Visualizers might help:
I hope these help, anon!
Why is the au based around planets and why specifically Venus and Pluto? Pretty unique
Ooh I like this question!! So, Bowtie isn't entiiiiiirely based around planets, but the Gods are! And there's one reason for that, being that Papa Pluto is the ruler of the Underworld in the Bendy Crack-Up-Comics!
So, when I saw this fella:
I thought it was a pretty cool spin that the Bendy devs did, instead of having their Devil equivalent just being The Devil and nothing more. They're using Greek mythology and planetary stuff too!
As for Venus, after doing some research, I figured that a cool opposing force to Pluto would best be Venus, planet of love. So, I decided to make Venus the secondary god in Bowtie, ruling over all things light and pure, and the god that Angels report to.
There's a lot of cool ideas to build off of in the Crack-Up-Comics, so I'm just working off of those!!! :D
