Just saw a Glitra modern AU fic that features Bowtrapta, and it's written by a cool person so I know it's funny, but I think Bowtrapta is at its funniest when it's a hurdle in the leadup to Glimbow.

Like. Bow is a disaster and he's like "hmm I should try dating" but he hasn't realised he's in love with Glimmer or hasn't got the courage to ask her out yet so he just. asks his awesome scientific colleague out on a date because that's what you're supposed to do, or she asks him out because she wants to see if they have any chemistry.

and then they hav e the most awkward date in history, zero romantic chemistry at all despite some attempts at normal date stuff, before entrapta goes "this isn't working, do you want to hang out at my place and build stuff instead" and bow goes "thank GOD" and then they have way more fun and she casually interrogates him on his crush on glimmer that he may or may not know about.

"The way I see it," Bow said, "it seems pretty simple. You walk up to the person, you say you like them and that you would like a date with them. They may say yes or they may say no, but at least you get an answer and can take it from there."

"Easy for you to say," Catra snarled.

"Most people would be flattered if you are interested in them,” Bow replied. “And even if they are not interested in being a couple or whatever... well, dates sounds like fun."

"Then why does every TV-show make it out as such a big deal?" Adora asked.

"I think they just lie to us to sell drama," Bow confidently said. "I bet in real life, it's much more simple." He turned to Catra again. "You know, you really should just tell..."

"Oh yeah!" Catra snarled. "You do it yourself if it's so easy."

Bow raised an eyebrow.

"Do you want me to ask Gli..."

"No!" Catra quickly cried. "I mean ask someone you... might want... might feel... would maybe hope..."

"Yeeeees?" Bow grinned at the flustered catgirl.

"Like her," Catra spat and pointed at a group of older teenagers who stood leaning against a wall. One stood a little bit beside the rest of them, drawing something on the wall with felt marker (despite that being vandalism and against school policy).

She had purple hair in pony tails and was dressed in a large overall. She had long sleeves that nevertheless left her shoulders bare. Behind her ear was a chewed on pencil and she had a piece of well chewed rubber in a string around her neck. Her tongue stuck slightly out of her mouth and moved as she draw what looked like a long equation.

"Entrapta?" Bow said, knowing her from the young-inventors club. Suddenly he looked a lot less sure of himself.

"Not so simple any longer, is it, Arrow Boy," Catra leered.
