Box Shop

Several months ago we visited the Box Shop on Hunters Point Road by Indian Basin in San Francisco. Had never heard of it until art began popping up there.
The box shop is studio workspace for artists on a large lot with shared access to a 5000 sf shop surrounded by large containers housing individual studios. The shop has a variety of equipment for working with metal and wood and electronics that includes a 3D printer. This space was created 20 years ago by @Charles Gadeken for his use and other professional artists looking for affordable studios.
This year Charles Gadeken began a beautification project to cover all the containers and fence surrounding the property with art. He had a Kickstart to raise funds to pay for artists to create artwork using different mediums. You can see some of the art on the Box Shop website. We are sharing some art created earlier this year, a lot more has been added. We encourage you to drive out to Hunters Point. There are lovely views of the bay to enjoy as well as the art. Spend some time and learn about the artists while there on your phone. Most pieces are signed.
