Unbeknownst to them, a spectral chill filled the air as an angry, towering figure materialized in the doorway.

The Lunch Lady. Her ghostly hair curled with rage, her ladle clutched tightly in one ethereal hand as she loomed over the baking contestants. “A BAKE-OFF?! WITHOUT ME?!”

The entire room froze. Danny’s eyes widened. “Oh, no.”

The Lunch Lady pointed an accusatory finger at him. “YOU DARE ENGAGE IN CULINARY COMPETITION AND NOT INVITE THE QUEEN OF THE CAFETERIA?!”

Flash, mid-cookie bite, slowly set it down and whispered, “We’re doomed.”

Superman cleared his throat. “Miss… uh, Lunch Lady. We meant no offense—”

“NO OFFENSE?!” The Lunch Lady’s eyes burned with green fire. “IF IT’S A CONTEST YOU WANT, THEN PREPARE YOURSELVES FOR A COOKING SHOWDOWN THE LIKES OF WHICH YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN!”

Danny groaned and put his head in his hands. “This just got so much worse.”

Just when the chaos couldn’t escalate any further, portals flickered open around the kitchen. The Batkids—Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, Robin, Spoiler, and Orphan—all marched in, each wearing matching shirts that read Alfred’s Army.

“We’re here to support our champion,” Nightwing announced proudly.

Superman barely had time to react before another group entered. Supergirl, Superboy, and Krypto the Superdog (wearing a tiny apron) stepped in, all bearing Ma Kent’s Marvels banners. “We stand for truth, justice, and the best apple pie in the universe,” Superboy declared.

Then, as if the multiverse was conspiring against Danny’s peace, two more figures appeared in bursts of green energy. “BEHOLD! I, THE BOX GHOST, HAVE COME TO SUPPORT THE TRUE QUEEN OF CUISINE!”

Beside him, a younger ghost with pigtails and a similar outfit threw her fists up. “AND I, BOX LUNCH, WILL ENSURE VICTORY FOR MY MOTHER!”

Danny stared at the sheer absurdity of the situation. “This is officially out of control.”

Constantine took a long drag from his cigarette and exhaled. “This is officially the best day of my life.”

I knew boxlunch had a Treasure Planet jersey but when I saw they also had a Little Mermaid one I KNEW I had to draw the babes in them ✨ sooo sports au ?? I dunno. This took me forever to finish bc burnout- and THEN when I was getting back in the groove I got so sick I didn't want to look at any other screen that wasn't the TV.

ps. I tried a sneaky watermark placement. Ariel's was initially supposed to go on the ball but I scratched it for perspective purposes so it's now a little tag on her shorts instead

[as of yesterday] Investigators found the backpack that the UH shooter apparently ditched in Central Park. It was full of monopoly money and a jacket

(Also regarding the above story) Macy's has marked down the jacket the shooter wore to 60% off if you use code "friend" at checkout. The jacket has since been sold out.

(Another one) there was a UH Shooter Lookalike Contest held in Central Park (edit: it was held at Washington Square park)

(Last one) the FBI reward for information leading to the arrest of the UH Shooter has been raised from 10k to 50k. The NYPD also released a statement regarding the shooters movements:

The Assad family has been granted political asylum in Russia, having lost control of Syria after a 50-year dictatorship.

The FDA is looking into banning red3, a popular cherry-red food dye that's derived from petroleum. It's currently used in 3,000 food products including Pez, Peeps, Double Bubble gum, and Betty Crocker products. Red3 was found to be a carcinogen in the 90s and subsequently banned from use in makeup products. California banned Red3 along with 3 other food dyes last year.

Influencer and co-founder of BlackGirlDisney Domonique Brown suffered a fatal allergic reaction and died at a BoxLunch event. She alerted the event staff of her food allergy and was assured foods were safe to eat. They weren't and there were no EpiPens. She was 30 years old. BoxLunch then sent emails to other influencers at the event simply stating that they're praying for Domonique's family, softening their content due dates for other influencers, and providing grief counseling for BoxLunch *staff*. No mention of any support for Domonique's family, friends, or the other co-founder of her business.
