I am lucky enough to have a Mom who’s also my best friend...and she can also curse like a sailor!👍👍 💙 My amazing mama has this uncanny ability to make everyone comfortable, I think it’s because she really has nothing but love in her heart. She nurses the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of everyone she knows, even if she’s just met them. She retired after 30 years of nursing bc she has COPD, not because she was done caring for people. This works out REALLY well for everyone who knows her, it’s like having a 5’ tall fairy godmother on speed dial! 💙 I was sitting and thinking last night about how ridiculously lucky I was to have such a loving, caring and involved parent as a child AND a built in best friend as an adult. I mean really? What’s better than an amazing relationship with family? 💙 I wrote her Christmas card, wrapped her shawl and ... she didn’t have any new socks for Christmas! This needed rectified. 💙 I casted this on last night for a little pre-Christmas present bc honestly? HAPPY DECEMBER 1st IGers!!!! . Today is the start of a 13 month pilgrimage I’ve set for myself. •No buying yarn •No knitting for myself - only for friends/family/charity/strangers •Highlighting all the ways knitting can make the world a little brighter . It may sound like a lofty idea but consider this: Moms and Dads can create a beautiful world for their children, and since Trev and I have had to relinquish the dream of being parents this year we want to try to add our little bit of sunshine wherever we can. While we are still grieving this loss, which is admittedly massive, this feels like the best way to heal. I want to spend a year focused on spoiling others - so I’m gonna do just that. . I’m ready, I’ve been ready since October! and I’m so excited to get started! I will be using the hashtag #mybakersdozen to chronically this little journey and maybe, just maybe, inspire someone else. . The hubby's first #pairfect Regia socks is complete! I messed around with my gauge abs did these with 2.0mm needles.
