Day in Fandom History: April 19…

When Mabel discovers that her favorite boy band is actually a bunch of clones, she sets them free at first, only to keep them all for herself, as Dipper believes that Robbie is "brainwashing" Wendy through a song that he made for her. “Boyz Crazy” premiered on this day, 13 Years Ago.

to round out my thoughts on all this i want to share a contender for my favorite wendy moment in the series, which ironically comes from one of my least favorite episodes. i just really like how stan and dipper are all excited (stan literally saying "we won" and "this is a victory") only for wendy to turn around and be legitimately and righteously upset. and then stan and dipper have to go home alone and think about the consequences of their actions. they don't actually win. all they did was break up a harmless teenage relationship for their own self interest. it's really refreshing compared to episodes like "the time traveler's pig" where, even though dipper doesn't get to spend the day with wendy, his insistence on controlling her love life goes largely unchallenged by the narrative, and robbie getting mocked at the end of the episode still nets dipper a small "win" and validates his intentions. and again, i just really like that wendy is so visibly and sincerely distraught. linda did a great job with her voice work here. it's definitely the strongest moment from an otherwise flimsy episode (in my opinion)

Just noticed this in both seasons of Gravity Falls.

When Dipper screwed up in a major way while with Stan or Ford, the episode ended with them both having a Pitt Cola and him being cheered up and motivated by them.

It happened at the end of Boyz Crazy after Dipper ruined Wendy and Robbie's relationship and angered Wendy...

And again at the end of The Last Mabelcorn when he nearly memory wiped Ford and broke the machine.

IDK about you, but I just love this small little bonding thing he has with them. Nothing like an S&P approved drink and some Grunkle motivation to get you going again!

Mabel would absolutely be a fan of the band 4*TOWN.

The confirmation here that Robbie was, in fact, telling the truth abt how he just ripped the song off and didn't know abt the subliminal messaging is so satisfying to me tbh bc it just makes a little more sense as to why Wendy wouldn't be mad abt the messaging, but rather abt the lyrics
