Have some Aeldwin & Kahedin thoughts because my brain won't stop thinking about them:
Aeldwin is decidedly not a morning person, but his profession often requires him to be up and about at odd hours unfortunately. Kahedin rises with the sun (his husband cannot for the life of him figure out where he finds his energy so early in the day) and struggles to remain awake once it sets.
Kahedin is not very approachable, but secretly is such a sweetheart; he was the type to wear his heart on his sleeve until the war forced him to hide it.
(Alinar is bold af when pushing his luck around Aeldwin alone, but so apprehensive when starting shit around Kahedin because, unlike Aeldwin, Kahedin does not need to maintain a professional relation with him and thus is not obligated to remain cordial.)
Kahedin is better at expressing his feelings and is comfortable with being emotionally vulnerable (around certain people). Aeldwin, on the other hand, has a tendency to bottle everything up and keep it to himself as to not burden anyone else.
He will often bury himself in his work in order to avoid having to deal with his feelings in any capacity.
Due to the demand and inherent stress of his speciality (healing), Aeldwin's appearance has aged beyond his years; his face is marked by a few premature lines and his hair is flecked with grays (which is very not normal for an aetherian his age). He is unbothered by it, but his husband was rather alarmed by the discovery of his first gray hairs.
Aeldwin suffers from migraines whenever he overextends his abilities. Kahedin has tried many times to persuade him into taking something to relieve the pain, and most days he refuses because it still leaves him unable to concentrate but with the added side effect of being drowsy instead of in pain (which Kahedin would argue is a marked improvement).
Aeldwin is really just concerned with how taking something will inhibit his healing magic (which Kahedin would argue he should be resting from using anyway, since that is exactly what earned him a migraine to begin with).
Aeldwin normally receives his prophetic visions as dreams, and usually Kahedin is able to soothe the worst of them without him ever waking.
In his later years, however, they become much more frequent and disorienting, and even begin lapsing into the hours when he is awake. Kahedin's attempts to lull his aura back into a restful state during the night are increasingly less and less successful so Aeldwin's visions wind up rousing him more often than not, though he is not always fully aware of and responsive to his surroundings right away.
