Oh, my sweet summer child. What do you know about fear ? Fear is for the winter, when the snows fall a hundred feet deep. Fear is for the long night, when the sun hides for years and children are born and live and die all in darkness. That is the time for fear, my little Lord, when the White Walkers move through the woods.

I pray to the Mother every morning and night that she return your child to you. Perhaps this time she’ll listen.
Put Your Trust In Ice Cream | Bran&Shireen
The silent conversations her parents had at the during table when she mentioned one of her friends, the sudden interest in whom she was talking to and why she was talking to them, and constant warning about outsiders all made Shireen want to scream. Of course, the grownups, as usual, kept their secrets and only shook their heads at her whenever she asked a question about what on earth was going on?
She'd resolved to searching the internet for any scraps of information about whatever situation they were in this time, but, for now, she just wanted nice things and a conversation that didn't make her want to throw things. Anger management, she reminded herself. She found she'd been getting mad quite a lot lately, and since that was actually a huge problem, she'd decided that ice cream would do the trick.
She relaxed a little, after Bran had agreed to coming with her, and set to getting to the parlor as fast as she could, yelling a quick, "I'm leaving!" to her parents as she ran out the door.
She pleased when she found out that the shop was mostly empty, choosing a table at the back to take a seat at as she calmly waited for her friend to come over.
