In today's episode of stupid shit I love so much about this show:
I can't believe they went out of their way to let us know that Neal dipped his fingers in Hughes' water. They didn't have to. But they took their time showing us the smeared ink, and Neal holding his fingers, and the still-sloshing water in the glass
Like, I'm sure Hughes would have believed him based on the demonstration he did for Diana. It's so easy to explain... but no.
Sending moral support and please take this crossover idea: Imagine how Wally would react to this wonderful eye creature from that one Aquabats episode
Oh mootie, thank you, love beam attack!!!
You know Wally is vaporising the Floating Eye of Death with his super psychic powers the moment he finds out its there to devour souls and enslave the neighbourhood. It'd be like a real anime moment
Or he would name it Gertrude and drag it to a picnic like a giant, gruesome balloon
A while back on my discord server, people answered some questions for some of their OCs. I answered for Brass Tacks.
What's something you heard from a loved one that hurt you?
She stared past you, eyes locked on some invisible figure behind you. The normally mean-spirited unicorn looked so forlorn as she spoke. "I had just signed the divorce papers and packed my bags... I didn't think Gambit was awake yet. She'd always slept in on the weekends, I didn't think that day would be any different... but there she was... Standing at the door, holding it open because she knew her mother would try to leave without a goodbye..." A thin smile crossed Brass' lips and there was a ghost of a chuckle.
(((Rest under the cut)))
"'A cold hearted bitch.' That's what she called me. Imagine my surprise hearing words like that come out of a foal's mouth." Her smile faltered and she hung her head slightly. "Like mother like daughter I suppose." The unicorn closed her eyes and sighed a long and weary sigh.
"She blamed me for the family falling apart... said it was because I had never wanted it in the first place, that I'd never wanted her. She told me to get the fuck out and never show my face on her doorstep again." Brass pulled her lips back in a grimace, as if the mere thought of those words was enough to hurt her. Her. Brass. Fucking. Tacks.
"I- I didn't know what to say at the time. What could I say? What was I supposed to say?” She asked in a strained whisper, demanding an answer that you couldn’t give. “She was right." Brass slammed a hoof down on the table and threw the other into the air. "I didn't love my jackass of a husband! The only reason I married the idiot was that I thought I had to! I was never going to let my ambitions be held back by obligations to anypony, or find a normal job or do normal motherly things like reading bedtime stories every morning!" She was shouting at this point, but her anger seemed hollow. Brass slumped back into her chair.
"Gambit was right. I didn't want a family...” You could have sworn her voice wavered as she said that. Brass looked up at you with eyes that looked so tired and fragile— so unlike those of the ruthless mare you knew. She sounded so broken as she shook her head and said, “Not at first anyway.” Brass buried her head in her hooves and took a deep, shaky breath.
“Nightmare damn it all!” she choked out. “I don't know how, but somewhere along the line, between my work and those few hours I actually spent at home, I did the one thing I swore to never do... I got attached. To my kid. Some pathetic- impossibly stupid part of me thought that after the whole divorce thing had blown over, I'd still have a chance to smooth things over, see her, talk to her, maybe be her mother every once in a while. My husband and I had agreed to joint custody, but I'd never even stopped to consider that Gambit wouldn't want me to be part of her life." She was shaking, and if you didn’t know any better, you’d say she was crying. But that’s impossible. Brass Tacks didn’t cry.
"I was a shit mother. I just don't have it in me to give a foal all the love and attention it needs... But she was still my daughter and when I looked at her then, all I could think about was all the moments in her life I was going to miss out on and how much I had royally screwed up. I should have dropped everything back then. I should have told her that I still wanted to be part of her life, that I loved her and that I would do better because she deserved better. But I didn’t. The damage was already done and she hated my guts… Leaving was probably the best thing I could have done for Gambit though. She grew up happy. Became a teacher. Got married to a nice mare last year. She's a good pony and having me around… She’s nothing like me and the world is better off for it.”
