Finally reached the grassland in the Alpine zone after crossing the India's last village towards Tibet. Actually the tourists are not allowed in Chitkul Wildlife area because of BSF security for China border, we had the special permission from forest department. This is actually the part of Baspa river valley which is the extended part of Sangla valley. Really I was just spellbound with the beauty of Kinnaur, in the winter season I couldn't see this properly due to snowcover. While coming back we found some gujjars with their horses...it was really enchanting moment to make it as a frame combined with grasses, horses and snow capped mountains together. Headed to one of the popular forest areas of tourists... Lakkadmandi forest area near Kalatop RF between Dalhousie and Khajjiar. Have you noticed in this forest, there are almost no ground flora except grasses due to heavy snowfall in winter season. Moreover, the pure Fir forest (Silver Fir) doesn't allow so much herbs & shrubs in their community. That's why it's very familiar for tourists for walking in such type of forests.
