I stopped by @thebeerhog today for a beer after work. They had #HitchHiker from @gpbrewing on the tap wall, pair that with their #GoodPeople event tonight, and I had to grab a glass. This seasonal IPA is sooo damn good. With big grapefruit and citrus notes in both the aroma and flavor backed with a big but welcome bitterness... this is a great beer to transition into these hot days. With all the excitement of Dogfish Head coming to Alabama this week, it's easy to overlook some of the other kick ass things going on in Craft Beer. #HitchHiker from @gpbrewing is making it's way to store shelves this week, and that freaking awesome! This wonderful IPA will be available in cans for the first time. If you guys haven't tried this Springtime Seasonal brew, do yourself a favor and pick up a sixer when you see it! Beautifully crafted and full of flavor, #ElGordo from @gpbrewing is one of our all-time favorite beers. #ElGordoDay was last weekend, and needless to say, we stocked up. While the original and the Barrel Aged versions can age for a little while, the delicate flavors of this version, #ElGordoOléMolé, make it a brew that needs to be consumed fresh. The combination of cocoa nibs, vanilla and a blend of three varieties of chili peppers make for a totally fun beer. Comparable to brews like Mexican Cake and Bomb, #MoleElGordo holds it own and then some. I'd love to do a blind taste test between these three beers, but right now, I'd put my money on The 13.9% Fat One. Huge chocolate notes are complimented by the smooth and sweet vanilla, while the heat from the peppers is constant, but never overwhelming. Dudes, just like the original, I LOVE this beer.
