Bria Fact #14: In Windilanian mythology, there are three major goddesses, all of whom have two first names with a little dash in the middle (like Margaret-Marilyn.) Because of this, there is a long-standing trend on the planet of parents naming their daughters in that same fashion, two first names with a dash in the middle (for example: Martha-Olivia, Felicity-Anne, Andrea-Persephone, Josephina-Catherine, Katerina-Sabine, etc.)

This is sort of the equivalent of naming a child something vaguely religious/spiritual, like Neveah, Faith, Grace, Hope or Trinity. Some Windilanian girls will go by their first two initials instead (cuz y'know Josephina-Catherine is a mouthful, JC sounds a little cooler.) For AFAB trans Windilanians, this often comes in handy when changing names (using the Josephina-Catherine example, they could go by JC while they figure out a new name and then change JC to stand for Joseph-Chandler, or Jamie-Casey.)

Bria Fact #13: As stated in the previous installation of Bria Facts, Desolian universities are usually the go-to schools for STEM degrees, but Cloudian universities are more well known for some particular STEM degrees. Obviously, both planets' universities will have some overlap, but in terms of what each planet is known for, Desolia's STEM fields include things like biology, chemistry, compsci, environmental science, aerospace and medicine, whereas Cloudian universities are known for political science, engineering, physics, economics and statistics.

Bria Fact #12: While most of Desolia is very run down and generally not doing great socially, economically and infrastructure-wise, the major cities are in much better condition and are sometimes even tourist spots for those who are willing to brave the cold.

These cities usually have a lot of large corporate buildings and are home to Desolia's famous universities. While Cloudia is considered the academic central of the Bria solar system, for students wishing to go into the medical, music, fashion or science fields, Desolia's schools are far better, but also incredibly difficult to get into. On top of that, the climate on Desolia is much more intense than that of Cloudia, so their universities are not for the faint of heart, which contributes to their long-standing status of eliteness.

Bria Fact #8: Cloudian media often fetishizes or misrepresents other planets' cultures, especially Windilan and Desolia.

Windilanian women, who are often the breadwinners and head-of-house in families, are stereotyped in Cloudian media as villainous dominatrix characters, like a "goth dommy mommy" type thing and lord knows I need to do a whole post about that issue.

On Desolia, there's a huge drug problem going on that's been going on for about 100 years and no stable government has been able to form and stay in power, so much of Desolia is run by drug lords and gangs. Some Cloudians saw this and were like "Damn that'd be a sick movie concept." and that sparked an entire film genre that's just an idealized, inauthentic version of Desolian city life where much of their problems are romanticized and lowkey even s3xualized sometimes.

Bria Fact #7: Members of the Cult of Miños will refer to them as the king or their king (since Miños created all the gods and the universe itself) which most other Hothistics are fine with. Except for the Cult of Allphas.

Allphas is the official king of the gods and every cult acknowledges him as such, that's just a part of the religion. And on paper and according to leaders of the Cult of Allphas there isn't any moral issue with referring to Miños as king or ruler, but regular members of the cult are still picky about it and will mutter angrily to themselves when they hear someone call Miños king.

Bria Fact #6: Most of the Promilanian cults include music in their weekly services and the music can vary quite a lot.

For example, in the Cult of Judit, the music is mostly ominous chanting done by a choir. In the Cult of Pyrrhas, the music involves a lot of drums and percussion, but really mostly drums.

But the Cult of Miños, which is considered a very prestigious and serious cult, has by far the most high-energy music. Think like live recordings of praise and worship music, or More Abundantly by Ricky Dillard, just insane energy and religious fervor, that's what they've got in the Cult of Miños.

Bria Fact #5: Tsumis, both amphibious and aquatic, are not mammals and do therefore not have breasts. Because of this, many trans Tsumis (which there are many of, the culture on Marindon is the most trans-friendly out of all the planets) don't have to deal with any kind of top dysphoria because everyone's chest looks the same.

However, some Tsumis, if moving to or spending an extended period of time on another planet, will experience top dysphoria cuz they compare themselves to the other species around them, all of whom have breast tissue and in areas with mostly Cloudians and Promilanians, larger amount of breast tissue means female and smaller amount of breast tissue means male. For trans Tsumis leaning on the masculine side, things are a bit easier in this case and most of their dysphoria is just from paranoia about other people's perception of them, but Tsumis leaning on the transfem side will often be misgendered entirely for their lack of breast tissue and that can be a lot to deal with.

Bria Fact #4: When the Promilanian pantheon was formed, the original creator god, Miños, gave the gods plenty of rules and instructions, but they made it very clear that the number one rule that could never be broken was that gods were not allowed to procreate with mortals. If a god were to do this, the consequences were said to be so severe that only Miños themself could comprehend them.

Of course, the gods were allowed to create beings using their godly powers, that is how Promilan became populated. And there were many instances of gods having romantic relationships with mortals (any conception was prevented with the use of divine powers.) Essentially, if someone were to break the rule, they would have to do it deliberately and consciously. And since Miños has since given up their seat of power, they would only be able to sense the imbalance after the child was born, so, again, you'd have to really try to break the rule. So far, it has never been attempted to be broken, but one of the gods will soon change this...
