In the Bria Solar System, there are many languages spoken. This is a rundown of each planet and its spoken languages.
On Promilan, the cult of each god has their own language that is usually spoken in households and is the language used for smaller religious ceremonies. Higher scale religious ceremonies are spoken in Deiaic, the language of the gods, which can only be spoken aloud by religious authority. Some private schools will teach Deiaic to students (usually taught by a priest or priestess) and, in an educational setting, it is allowed to be spoken by those not holding a religious position for the purpose of learning to understand the language. Anyone is allowed to write and read (just not out loud) Deiaic no matter their position in any Promilanian cult. The common language on Promilan spoken by all cults/regions is Omodu and most adult Promilanians speak it fluently. Common (the language used across the Bria Solar System) is also used on Promilan, but it is not taught in most schools and, if one wants to learn Common, they often have to take classes at a community center or live in a bigger city with more foreigners.
On Marindon, there are two main languages: Udo and Jik'la, named after the old tribes of Marindon. Udo is spoken by the aquatic Tsumis and Jik'la is spoken by the amphibious Tsumis and, although it isn't known or used much, there is a language called Tsuto that is a combination of the two. But, for the most part, on the rare occasion that aquatic and amphibious Tsumis are conversing they typically speak Common with one another. The language of the Cali tribe is still kept in records and there are resources available to learn to read the language but it isn't often spoken; it is mostly learned by historians or particularly curious individuals who desire to keep alive an old culture or read old historical documents. There are some languages exclusive to subtribes that are spoken in their respective regions and are most often spoken in households, but in schools and professional settings either Udo or Jik'la is spoken. Common is not often spoken on Marindon outside of certain schools that teach it as an elective course, as Tsumis value their native language and it is difficult, if not impossible, for Tsumis to live on foreign planets.
On Cloudia, Common is the most spoken language as it is the most species diverse planet. Some private schools teach in Clopus, the native language of Cloudia, and expect students to speak in Clopus but almost all individuals born on Cloudia speak fluently in Common. But there is a movement among Cloudians who are upset about the decreasing number of individuals who speak Clopus and that is part of the reason for the aforementioned private schools. Aside from those schools, Clopus is spoken fluently by older generations of Cloudians and is spoken in smaller Cloudian towns and close Cloudian communities. That being said, Common is the language used in all public schools and in most professional spaces and the Cloudian government loves encouraging people to learn Common. However, since individuals from every planet in the Bria Solar System come to live on Cloudia, every spoken language is spoken on Cloudia and most languages are taught in larger public schools as elective classes while Common is taught in the way English is taught in American schools.
On Windilan, there are many languages spoken across the various regions and there is no official universal Windilanian language. However, there are many similarities between the varying languages and Windilanian children are often taught several languages as they grow up. There are also many dialects and accents throughout regions and these will often overlap with languages which mixes things together even more which is very helpful for Windilanians but a nightmare for foreigners. The only language common between all the regions is Gigohar, the warrior's language. It is a combination of simple shouts, hand signals and body language spoken by all the women who traverse to the surface world of Windilan. Common is barely spoken on Windilan, the only areas in which it is spoken are the Cubic Lands where speaking any native Windilanian language, even in personal conversation, is looked down upon.
On Desolia, Desolitongue is the official language and is spoken by most Desolians living in or close to cities, but it is often spoken in a particular dialect based on the area. Common is spoken by Desolians living in cities as well, but it is often spoken in a Desolian dialect as well. Outside of big cities there are many other languages spoken that vary from region to region and, unless you live in or near a city, you likely will never learn or even hear Desolitongue or Common in your lifetime which is just fine because it is very very difficult to travel anywhere on Desolia. In areas within 200-300 miles of a city, there will typically be one member of each household who can speak enough Desolitongue to communicate with authorities and understand news broadcasts, but outside of that there isn't a real need for speaking any language aside from the local one.
