Yesterday I watched The Breakfast Club (1985) and in the scene when Brian confesses that he got detention because he brought a gun (to pop off his skull) to school after getting an F on a subject. I started to notice that Brian was wearing a dark green sweater. Now you know who else wears a dark green sweater in an 80s movie and popped off his skull with a gun in the end. Thats Right.

The themes of Wake Up Dead Man are so personal to me... The rage against the church inflicted by the trauma of being raised in it, the romantic appeal of their values... The undiagnosed chronic pain, the talent forgotten and thrown away... The abandonment and resentment, the bitterness that only a fucked up family leaves you with... The submission you can't quite escape in this world as a woman... The disrespect.

The whole being a "good daughter", the sacrifice of motherhood... You being a mother or not.

The sacrifice of family, of love...

The wickedness of "being the good one". Of being forced to be the good one. The fear of judgement from your father, be he holy or not.

The state of the world, yes... That too.

The unquenchable thirst for hope, for a miracle, even if you don't believe in them.

The undying faith.
