The Hatchet by Gary Paulsen

I know I'm in a lot of pretty small Fandoms, but I'm pretty sure the Gary Paulsen Hatchet/Brian series has literally no following whatsoever. My brothers and I have loved those books for many years, and I feel like everyone has read the hatchet at some point in childhood and then forgot about it. The books are so intriguing in both story and writing style. I've grown to love Brian as a character.

Brian's Winter is like an alternate ending to Hatchet, both by Gary Paulsen. In the forward, Paulsen writes that he researched and wrote this book for all the fans who wrote in asking, "what if Brian hadn't been rescued, but had had to survive in winter?"

Spoiler: there is a cute skunk named Betty and I think she deserves the next installment.

2). Brave New World - Aldous Huxley

Take a look at what could happen to someone introduced to an environment completely reversed to what they’ve been taught all their lives. Would you give up freedom for garanteed happiness?

3). Flowers For Algernon - Daniel Keyes (warning for r-slur)

Charlie Gordon was born developmentally disabled, but, after a new procedure comes into reach, he may get a second chance at an education

4). Perks of being a wallflower -  Stephen Chbosky

Charlie explores his social and personal identity after a friend of his commits suicide just prior to beginning high school
