Also, I really appreciate the fact that Bricklebaum knows full well that the Grinch is insulting him, and makes it clear that he knows? The softest, most safety-scissors forms of teasing, the nicknames, the little “That’s a good one!” and the “Don’t blame me!” when the Grinch tells him his lights display burns? They could have easily made him completely opaque and too dumb to realize the Grinch doesn’t consider him a buddy, but no, that’s never reinforced anywhere outside of the Grinch thinking it’s what has to be going on here.

Bricklebaum knows he’s a cranky ass. Likes him and considers him a friend anyway.

So I just saw the new Grinch movie and it was cute but the problem I have with it is that Bricklebaum was so friendly to Grinch and Grinch acted like Cindy Lou was the first Who to be nice ever when Bricklebaum was over there trying to be friends with the Grinch.
