That's ridiculous that you have to pay $25,000 a year for it!!! My college is $2,000 per semester. I am in a lesson though with students who are just learning to jump. I can do everything my coach has us do on the hardest horses when they have trouble with the easiest horses. I am sooo bored in my lessons that I am threatening to take my stirrups off on purpose just to make it harder for me. I have 2 more years, and I can't wait to go on with my life and achieve bigger and greater things.

I totally get that. I cant wait either! It’s next to impossible to learn when you’re in a group with others who are really below your level. And our team has probably 20-25 riders and we have maybe 5 school horses so you can only imagine how crazy that gets. Ugh we don’t have that much longer, hopefully we survive!
I am sooo happy that someone agrees with me about IHSA!!! I am on a nationally ranked team, but I still think it is the stupidest thing ever! My riding has gone way down the drain. I showed in the most competitive amateur medals in California that were set at a solid 3'3" and 3'6" and I also did jumpers and hunters. At school I barely jump, and if I do its like a foot. All my teammates love IHSA buts that because they did IEA. I showed twice this semester... I am so done. What about you?

IM SO TIRED OF IT! I’m on a club team (which has problems all of its own. Our coach is an eventer, not a h/j person, we pay over $25,000 a year to ride, we’ve placed in the top 3 at shows before and never get recognized by our school…It’s just beyond ridiculous) but i honestly think it’s made my riding worse… We video every ride at shows and I look FINE and I know that I would be placing much higher in the regular non-IHSA eq but I NEVER pin well. This is my third year and my highest pinned ride was a second. Before IHSA? Top ten on the local circuit all the time, in much bigger classes. I qualified for Regionals this year, had 20 people in my class, rode perfectly, and never pinned, while a girl on my team was on the WRONG LEAD and pinned way over me. And same thing, I cannnn jump 3'0 comfortably (jumps in IHSA are a joke... at our shows they never even set them at the right height, always lower) and in lessons we flat 75% of the time because people on my team suck and can't even steer or canter on their own. I showed at every show but only because I'm a captain and everyone else in my division on our team is really...rough around the edges. I’m just so done with it and I want to be able to just finish it out and start my reallll career. But I can’t afford to now that I’ve spent all this money for IHSA. It’s the most frustrating thing in my entire life. And everyone on our team insists that doing IHSA is a good foundation for everything else riding related…. I wish I would’ve just taken more lessons or something instead

Pony Update #3
Got a call from the trainer today that E is infection-free and finally sound! He got turned out outside for the first time since his little accident and apparently was feeling pretty fresh, so he only got two hours or so (its a tad muddy and we don't want any other issues).
Going home for Easter next weekend so maybe I'll ride him... Or at least visit and let him lunge for a little while.
Relieved/happy/excited for summer and showing!
Pony Update #2
The antibiotics seem to be working :) the infection has gone down and the tissue around his little wound isn't as swollen or inflamed looking. It's getting back to pinkish instead of gross. Don't you love my super technical terms? ;) He's getting sounder by the day and now gets an hour or less, depending on how silly he gets, of turnout in the indoor. Still no riding or other exercise. I'll be home to see him for Easter so I'm hoping I can at least walk around on him by then, but we'll see. Never any definites with ponies.
