"lighten up, bud." brigitte grins at him, turning her head slightly to look at him. "it's not that bad. so we got a little lost, no big deal. makes it a bit fun!" and they all need a bit of fun, in her opinion. too many of the old crew need to lighten up every now and then.

lena's got a present for brigitte! it's been left on her work station at the watchpoint. it's an unassuming little paper box lined with pink tissue paper, in which lies a mini roll of love heart candies, a bright pink bath bomb, and a small pouch of cat treats. the note attached reads: to my favorite knight in shining armor xx ps: the treats are for mitzi!

it comes as a surprise to brigitte, having not expected anything at all. it's sweet and she wastes no time in popping one of the candies in her mouth. she can't help the little smile that appears on her face, and she sits there for a few minutes just thinking about how sweet it was that lena did this.

then brigitte begins planning on what to get lena in return.

@storyofwhoiam's charli has a blind date with brigitte!

brigitte's never been on a blind date before, and she thinks it a super cute idea. she's really glad her friend set her up on this, and a painting session at that? while she doesn't have an artistic bone in her body, it's been a lot of fun painting her gorgeous date.

she finishes, somehow managing to get paint all over her apron, her hands, even her face. she's a mess, but a cute one at that. "can i see yet, or are you still working on yours?" brigitte spares a glance at her own painting and just hopes that her date is as bad an artist as she is, so they can laugh about it and have fun with it.

there isn't anything to take care of on dio, not really. she heals herself, heals faster than brigitte would be able to handle it. so she sits beside her girlfriend, saying nothing but absolutely fuming. true anger is hardly something brigitte feels often, but she finds herself angry now. angry at the situation, angry at dio for being so reckless, for not thinking about the people who care for her — and there are so many who do.

it's a few minutes before brigitte can say anything, doesn't want to say anything she'll regret. she takes a deep breath before she starts. "i can't handle watching you hurt yourself for us. i can't... i can't watch you nearly kill yourself every single time we're on the field, dio." she understands how dio's abilities work, but that doesn't mean dio needs to go to the lengths she does every time. "we have medics, we have people who will take care of us. you don't need to do it all!"

"you're actually pretty good at this." brig curls her fingers to look at her freshly polished nails, enjoying the color jackson picked. she always ends up making a mess of her nails when she tries to do it, and then tends to mess them up almost immediately by working on something. it's why she doesn't usually bother with it, but it seems to be a self-care evening and who is brigitte to resist.

she grabs a nice red color, careful not to make an immediate mess of her polish. "now it's your turn," she says with a grin.

brigitte just finished up working on one of her many projects, but she's still winding down and can't sleep just yet. every now and then someone is awake the same time she is — usually hana, sometimes cole. so seeing kiwa isn't all that much of a surprise. "can't sleep?"

she smiles a little bit, though it's a tired one. she leans against the cool railing of one of the balconies. the sound of the ocean, nearly invisible in the night, is soothing in a way she can't quite explain. "i find it hard to sleep here sometimes," brig admits, glancing to kiwa.
