This is such a weird ask to send but I feel like you’re at the intersection of interests to get it as a Stranger Things enjoyer who was also in Brit Pack fandom? You don’t have to publish or respond lol, I just wanted to tell someone my half-formed thoughts.

I’m listening to Laura Marling (like, first three albums aged 17 - 21 Laura) and so many songs are perfect Chrissy Cunningham songs. Like, Chrissy by herself and her relationship to herself and her mother and Jason and (in the great life I have been living in since May) Eddie. I feel a little bad that in my head that I imagine her getting to survive and become wilder and darker and somehow this cannot be encapsulated by mall pop or, at least, Madonna. However some emotions can only be encapsulated by daughters of Stevie and Joni.

Laura in particular sings about her men as beasts, like they’re her creatures that the world views as mean and scary whilst she is a doll or a bird or Persephone. Sometimes she’s running from the charismatic bad man like in Your Only Doll Dora, sometimes she’s resigned to this stretching forever with this terror and terribleness, sometimes she’s visited in her tower by another like in Tap At My Window, and sometimes she is the one who is monstrous because of her own hunger and wanting like all over A Creature I Don’t Know. It’s all such good burgeoning womanhood stuff.

Oh man, I would never have connected Laura to Chrissy but you're right, in a Chrissy Lives AU it does work really well and it WOULD be really satisfying to see Chrissy transitioning from a Madonna or a Cyndi to a Stevie or a -- shit, I'm forgetting her name, but the witchy one in Heart. I'm a mall pop girl through and through but I can admit that not all characters are, LOL! :P

Now I want to read a "Ghosts" fic for Eddie/Chrissy of the ghosts who broke their hearts, laying it all on the table before they get together so they see each other warts'n'all. But I'm a sucker for a "Ghosts" fic for ANY pairing. (Literally, give me a "these are the ghosts who broke my heart" one-shot for any pairing and I will DEVOUR it.)

But also: a dark Chrissy who survived -- but is changed by Vecna and becomes the last serving daughter...
