community characters as osemanverse characters

i don't know if there is much overlap between these two fandoms, but i've noticed some similarities between some community characters and those from some of alice oseman's books, so here are my thoughts on who would be who (for simplicity and as i haven't thought about this loads, i'll just include the characters i see the most similarities between):

heartstopper

abed: charlie

troy: nick

annie: tara

britta: darcy

heartstopper's main love story is very similar to what i view trobed's as: a friends to lovers romance where one character is open about their sexuality while the other is still figuring it out. they love and support each other and one is able to truly be themself about the other; something they could rarely do before they became friends. also, they have the same introvert/extrovert and slight jock/nerd (with the jock not being a stereotype and the nerd still being somewhat sporty) dynamics.

annie is tara, because if community had a heartstopper au, she would definitely be the supportive lesbian who offers advice to the boy she had a comphet crush on when she was younger before become a core part of their friend group. and britta is her blonde, chaotic girlfriend. (plus, i can fully imagine darcy doing the 'pizza pizza, go in tummy' chant whenever she sees pizza.)

i think this works especially well because they literally have the same myers briggs types! (intp, enfp and isfj respectively.) annie and rowan are both mom friends, and i think the others fit as well. i can definitely imagine if trobedison became famous, fans would be most likely to have crushes on troy, and i can imagine them shipping annie and abed while troy is quietly but endlessly frustrated by this as he pines after abed.

britta could also be bliss in this au, as bliss does remind me of how britta is in season 1, and her being the only person to not care about the band's fame while dating annie would make sense.

if i thought more about it, i could probably see how some other characters could be included in these aus, but this is all i have right now. i hope this made sense to at least someone, but if not, maybe i've encouraged you to watch community or read alice oseman's books (whichever one you're not familiar with), which i would highly recommend because community is my comfort show (as you can probably tell from my blog) and alice is my favourite author!

Unidentified Freaking Object - Britta Perry/Annie Edison

A/N: Day 9 for @sapphic-september

“What is happening?” Britta’s sigh is soft even as she folds into a seat beside Annie Edison, watching Abed, their friend, run in circles as if he’s trying to work something out using several tactics at once. It’s not unusual but it is always concerning to see. “Abed thought he saw a UFO…” Annie’s laugh is soft before she leans into Britta a little. “He’d work it out faster if he bothered looking for a remote… and Troy.” Britta’s smile is quick, warm in reply and she smiles as she leans to kiss Annie sweetly. “Well, since he’s distracted…” The rest of the words fade even as the kisses deepen, slow, sweet but burningly hot. They’ve been resisting telling the others for a while now, so any chance they get for a little sneaky romance is taken.

Take Me Home - Britta Perry/Annie Edison, Britta Perry/Michelle Slater

A/N: Day 7 for @sintember

Forgotten. The word echoes the more Britta walks, talks, with Annie. Michelle had known it was a risk to get close to the petite blonde woman, but she hadn’t expected it to hurt this much. She’s quiet the next night she spends with Britta, quietly withdrawn until Britta’s hand covers her own, a squeeze getting her attention as she meets the woman’s open, honest, gaze. “I hadn’t forgotten you Michelle, I just needed Annie to help me find a space we can all share…. She likes you too, you know… as a friend.” Silence falls, Michelle’s eyes burning a little as she leans to kiss Britta softly. Next day she smiles as Annie drops into step beside her, the two sharing a quiet glance of understanding. They will share Britta, find peace in being friends, it will all work out, eventually.
