🇬🇧 Britain's Secret Demilitarization Plan: It's Working!
Ochre Painted linen and cork British naval artillery bucket with worn painted crest and a leather strap, English circa 1880; also called a cordite bucket or a Clarkson’s Case. 1 2 3 The body is made out of cork covered with a canvas or linen. Cork is lightweight and naturally fire resistant, well-suited for safely storing combustible charges. Painted linen is used to cover & finish the cork. and a weathered stenciled amorial crest. Decorative amorial crests were most likely added later after these buckets were decommissioned and sold as umbrella stands or waste baskets. The sewn handles and straps are fixed to the body with copper rivets. height: 12 in. 30.5 cm., diameter: 6 in. 15 cm. https://www.gardencourtantiques.com/shop/painted-linen-and-cork-british-naval-cordite-bucket/ Clarkson’s Case – British propellant charge container. These were flashproof containers for bag charges (cartridges). Charges were placed into these containers before they left the magazines. The Clarkson’s Cases then rode up the hoists to the guns where the charges were removed only when it was time to load them into the breech. The Clarkson’s Cases were reusable and were returned to the magazines for reloading. Cordite is a family of smokeless propellants developed and produced in the United Kingdom since 1889 to replace gunpowder as a military propellant. Like gunpowder, cordite is classified as a low explosive because of its slow burning rates and consequently low brisance Brisance is the shattering capability of a high explosive, determined mainly by its detonation pressure. The term “cordite” generally disappeared from official publications between the wars. . . . . . . #corditebucket #clarksoncase #clarksonscase #navyhistory #britishnavy #wwi #firebucket #gunpowder #militaryhistory #instainteriordesign #artillerybuckets #designinspiration #interiordesignersofinsta #vintage #antiques #sf #sanFrancisco #interiordesignideas #antiqueshop #gameroom #clarksoncase #navy #cordite #bucket #decorativeantiques #umbrellastand #coatofarms #crest #armorial #cordite (at Garden Court Antiques) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNIs_xxMVr6/?igshid=1wkg08hk1mxgc

Support for Members of the British Military & Their Families
**PLEASE READ & SHARE***
With British armed forces personnel continuing to have a key role in the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic with; OPERATION RESCRIPT (assisting the UK government with efforts to tackle COVID-19 within the UK) and OPERATION BROADSHARE (British military efforts in response to COVID-19 overseas) the mental well-being of both serving personnel and their families, is an important topic to discuss.
During the first peak, 20,000 troops were at readiness, with more than 4,000 of them deployed at any one time.
Nearly 400 armed forces personnel from the ‘COVID Support Force’ were mobilised to support the ambulance service across the country.
In the first week of October, 100 RAF personnel were deployed to Birmingham to help with the Councils ‘Drop & Collect’ initiative.
175 armed forces personnel from the ‘Royal Gibraltar Regiment’ and ‘MOD Gibraltar’ help deliver vital food and medicine to Gibraltar.
The RAF delivered essential equipment to the Falkland Islands.
And so much more!
With so many of our serving personnel being deployed, and having to isolate from their families, I thought I’d share the amazing British military charities that are here to help.
SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen & Families Association) - helps both personnel and their families with a variety of challenges.
RAFA (Royal Air Force Association) - provides welfare support by charitable means to all serving & former members of the RAF, their spouses and dependants.
Combat Stress - a free 24-hour mental health helpline for veterans & serving personnel. Family members concerned about a service person’s mental health can also call the helpline.
(VETERANS & FAMILY) 0800 323 4444
(SERVING PERSONNEL & FAMILY) 0800 138 1619
TogetherAll (an organisation that provides 24/7 anonymous online support for mental health issues. This service is free for all serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and family members aged 16)
Little Troopers - a registered charity supporting all children with one or both parents serving in the British Armed Forces, regular or reserve.
RAFBF (Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund)- offers advice for partners & families of RAF personnel, including what to do in an emergency.
As a military child myself, I know the importance and worth of the support available.
I host a new and exciting podcast that gives military BRATs a platform to discuss their lives and experiences growing up with parents serving in the British Military.

#usstamps - Commemorative Series of 1943. #overrunnations #greece🇬🇷 8) France 🇫🇷 had relied on the defensive strength of her Maginot Line and its extensions and on the natural obstacles presented by rivers and forests, but the German panzer divisions crossed the forests and opened up a gap in the Maginot Line in a few days. From here the Germans rushed to the English Channel. The allied armies in France were split, those in the northern pocket, withdrawing to Dunkirk, were evacuated by the #britishnavy and small vessels of all kinds. After #dunkirk the Germans moved south and west into France. The Maginot Line was approached from the rear. #paris fell on June 14th. The Indians had a great performance in WWII, and did a terrific job in helping the British soldiers. Over 2.5 million Indians served in the British Army in WWII, making it the largest volunteer army in history. India was the backbone of Britain’s land forces, as Britain’s best aspect of their army was their naval forces. With India providing tons of help on land, Britain could focus more on their main advantage in the army— the Navy. Without the Indians, there is a great chance that Germany would have won the war and conquered Europe.
