China (People’s Republic) — National Tree Planting Campaign Issues 8f–30f (Scott 2266–2269)
This cohesive commemorative set from the People’s Republic of China, cataloged as Scott 2266–2269, was issued in 1990 to promote the National Tree Planting Campaign, a long-running nationwide effort focused on reforestation, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
Scott 2266 (8 fen) depicts agricultural greenery and newly planted trees, symbolizing grassroots participation and rural ecological renewal.
Scott 2267 (10 fen) features urban buildings integrated with green space, emphasizing the importance of environmental balance within growing cities.
Scott 2268 (20 fen) presents forested landscapes and defensive green belts, highlighting large-scale conservation and land management.
Scott 2269 (30 fen) completes the set with dense woodland imagery, underscoring long-term forestry, biodiversity, and ecological stability.
Each design uses simplified, modern graphic forms and a harmonious green color palette, characteristic of late-20th-century Chinese stamp design. All four stamps are offered in mint never hinged (MNH) condition, with full original gum, clean margins, sharp perforations, and fresh, unfaded color.
An appealing and thematically consistent set for collectors of China, environmental issues, forestry, and modern commemorative stamps.
