y'know if i had a nickel for every game changer episode that was used to show how much they love and care about an individual, i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot but it's amazing it's happened twice.

I love Teddy with my whole being, but I do feel that not including his death in the show was detrimental to Show!Billy’s development. Losing the true father figure of his life sent him into a spiral and added so many layers to his character and how he continued to fight his addiction.

I think not including it made Show!Billy a little more shallow in his choices at the end.

rant time for just one sec here-

while a very, very, very tiny part of me agrees with the ny times article thing i have a MAJOR bone to pick.

i want them to imagine being a 19 year old who very clearly (based on any legitimate interview in the last few months) LOVES and is OBSESSED with music and put his heart and soul and everything else into this album. he is trying to find himself and who he is in his music and as a MUSICIAN and ARTIST because that’s what shawn so desperately wants to be. but no, he’s been branded as a teen pop idol/sensation/heartthrob/whatever that has been geared towards little teeny-boppers and society naturally looks down on them and doesn’t respect what they’re doing solely because of the population they’re geared towards. like people don’t even give him the time of day or the chance to prove himself because of it and it PISSES ME OFF. especially when you have someone like shawn who is trying his damnest to break out of that mold and people like this aren’t letting him.

Its official: i will always like sub anime over dub anime.

I started watching kuromukuro the dub version on netflix. The longer i listened to the character voices, the more they just didnt match and sound right. So i looked up the sub version and I'm not kidding you, it sounded perfect. Im cursed from ever watching dub anything i guess.

I’m drawing a few more pride month comics, but I worry that having so many lgbt+ and/or disabled characters in my comic comes off as pandering.

I’v already kind of been accused of this with the Mills twins, Will and Fred. Someone pointed out that it was too much that Will is trans and that Fred is gay and missing a leg. Not mentioned, but they both also suffer from clinical depression (for reasons I’ll get into in a later episode). 

So it makes me cautious. I don’t want anyone to think that I only have lgbt, disabled/mentally ill, and different sized characters just for what some people refer to as some kind of ‘tumblr bate’. Cause I was never looking for popularity by drawing this comic. I just wanted something to do and to further develop characters that I liked.

And as an autistic, black, asexual/aromantic woman with clinical depression and anxiety, I’m a big proponent for diversity and I know that real people don’t just have one ‘thing’. And it’s very important that people can see themselves in media. 

I hope that I’m able to incorporate characters’ sexualities into their everyday lives without making a big deal about them. Mental health is also a big theme I look forward to exploring more later. 

Don’t mind me, I’m just thinking aloud.
