Basically I think a lot of White ppl think the antithesis to racism is "Black people are inherently Cool, White people are inherently Lame" and it's just very hard to convince them that this is also extremely racist lmfao
It's the combination of "seeing a racialized group as Fundamentally Inherently Good is still dehumanizing and you aren't seeing them as people" and "your self-flagellating White guilt is extremely annoying for the people of color around you to deal with"
NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE (2001) Dir. Joel Gallen
This is a project I did for Kragerø Kunstskole in 2021. (I also printed them out into small booklets that I sold at a small art exhibition on Jomfruland. So a few people have a physical copy!)
The concept was about a woman who ran around and documented different creatures from Scandinavian folklore(Some of these you can find in other places around Europe with different names and tricks to them)
I wanted to add a final part where she is spirited away, and her friend Aksel would have to go to the mountain to save her, but I was too short on time and just hinted at it in the text.
I figured I'd finally translate the whole thing and post it here since I've been quiet for such a long time due to work on my comic. (Apologies for the grammar, but it's probably clear that English is not my first language lol)
And since I'm getting closer and closer to finishing my comic, I figured I'd post something that's both relevant and outdated.
Anyway! I need to continue my work on my comic Trollbundet!
(That hopefully will be able to release this year!!!!! AAAAAAHH!)
Hello, fellow fandom-obsessed creatives! Please join us for the 11th edition of #AggressivelyArospecWeek in what is officially our tenth year holding this event!
Every year, #AggressivelyArospecWeek (#AAW) is an occasion to promote the creation of arospec fancontent by arospec creators. For an entire week, people on the aromantic spectrum celebrate their experiences through fandom and art.
For this event, “fancontent” means any creation related to a fandom, whether it’s a headcanon, a piece of meta, fanfic, fanart, a playlist,… All fandoms are welcome!
The content created for this event should center a character’s arospec identity (this can be a canon identity or a headcanon).
We only accept entries from creators who identify as being on the aromantic spectrum or who are questioning whether they might be.
This event is an opportunity for creators to explore their identities through fanwork within a supportive community. It’s also a perfect way for fans of all kinds (arospec or not) to enjoy art and have fun!
Join us from June 21 to June 27 2026 for an explosion of arospec fancontent on your dash!
To submit content to the event, please make a new post between June 21 and June 27 and tag it as #AggressivelyArospecWeek. You can also submit your work directly to our blog through the ask and submission boxes. Your post will then be shared on the Aggressively Arospec blog.
A collection will also be opened on Archive of Our Own to round up all the fanfics posted on there. Just search for “Aggressively Arospec Week ‘26” in the “Post to collections” tab when you’re posting on AO3.
Help us make this year's edition another success! We’ve only come this far through your support and creativity.
Please, take a second to share this post so your followers get to join in the fun as well 💚
(For more information, check out our “About” page or our FAQ section. You can also check last year's FAQ if there's anything else you'd like to know. If you need some inspiration, you can also check out all previous submissions in our #AggressivelyArospecWeek tag.)

How to look for indie comics from Black creators!
As you may know, there was recently a DC Comics boycott as a part of the DCSoWhite movement since DC has not had a mainline ongoing solo with a Black lead for over 1200 days. You can read more about this here, here, here, and here. The boycott has been cancelled (link), but that doesn't mean we can't still show support for Black comic creators!
One of the things the movement called for fans to do was to "[Support] Black creators through independent and creator-owned projects." So this post is meant to provide tips on how to do this.
Check out other works of Black creators you're already familiar with
The Black comic creators you're already a fan of who have made comics for DC or Marvel have likely also made comics for other publishers too. You can usually find out about other comics they've worked on through their Wikipedia page, social media pages, and their own website if they have one. And it's a good idea to follow their social media to learn about any of their projects in the future!
Look through indie publisher websites
A great way to find out about indie comics is to check out indie publishers' websites. There will almost always be a page on their websites with all their comics so you can easily look through them and the creators will be listed so you can look into the creators too. This is one way to find out about Black comic creators who you might not already be familiar with.
The publishers that are listed as examples in the webpages linked above are Image Comics, BOOM! Studios, Vault Comics, Ignition Press, and Stranger Comics.
Check out existing lists
There are already lists online that specifically recommend Black creators to check out and comics by Black creators. You can also find recommendations and lists on social media. This is another great way to find out about Black comic creators you're not yet familiar with.
Speaking of lists, I would like to point you to this post by @bimboopo which includes a list of many Black webtoon creators which you can go check out!
Hopefully this guide will help people find out about more comics by Black creators. Support these creators by reading, buying, and talking about their comics. And even if the boycott is over, still make sure to sign the petition.
BLACK COMIC CREATORS:
Oooh I should share this here! I have a Black Comic Creators masterlist I've been compiling since 2020 that I continue to update!

Any BLACK comic creator who would like to be added to this list can fill out the google form linked at the bottom of the doc!
