In a landmark event for fans around the world, British singer/songwriter Louis Tomlinson is set to perform one night only at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez - Curva 4 in Mexico City on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Louis will be the first male solo artist to headline the venue, which is the home of the Mexican F1 Grand Prix.
As part of his 'Faith In The Future World Tour’, the show is the culmination and the final stadium show of two back-to-back world tours that have sold over 1.5M tickets and taken Louis to 47 countries across 5 continents. Louis Tomlinson - For Every Question Why: Live and Direct from Mexico City will air LIVE on Veeps, offering fans around the world exclusive access to the first concert Louis has ever streamed in front of an in-person crowd.
The livestream will be directed by Grammy-nominated and Emmy award-winning director Sam Wrench, who has earned wide acclaim for his work on Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour film as well as Billie Eilish: Live at the O2. Individual tickets are on sale for $16.99 HERE. To cater to the timezones of a truly global fanbase, there will be two opportunities for fans to gather on the streams — a livestream direct from the show at approximately 8pm PDT / 9pm CST (Mexico)* on Saturday, June 1 and an encore broadcast on Sunday, June 2 at 6pm BST / 7pm CET.* The encore broadcast will include exclusive backstage and bonus footage not included in the first livestream.
Louis will be partnering with War Child UK for the livestream and donating a portion of the proceeds from every ticket sold. War Child UK is committed to ensuring a safe future for every child affected by war. With 30 years of experience, they work with local communities and governments to protect, educate, and support children in war zones, aiming to reach them quickly and stay long after the crisis has passed. War Child creates safe spaces for children to play, learn, and heal, advocating for their rights and amplifying their voices.
Veeps and Louis have partnered a number of times since Veeps’ inception, each time crafting unique and heartfelt experiences for fans tuning in — from his 2020 Live From London lockdown performance that brought together 160,000 fans for the biggest livestream concert ever held by a solo male artist, to an airing of his feature-length documentary All of Those Voices coupled with a live red carpet cross and intimate Q&A. (In a show of the closeness of Louis’s fans, the stream generated an enormous 30,000 chat messages amongst those that tuned in.)
Louis’s journey from global superstardom with One Direction to solo success has been marked by a series of bold, creative choices, kicking off with his debut album, Walls, which has sold over 1.5 million copies. Its 2022 follow up, Faith in the Future, went to No.1 in the UK, Spain and Belgium, and Top 5 in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and across Europe. In 2021, Louis was listed in the Guinness Book Of World Records for breaking the record for the most live streamed concert by a solo male artist, hosting one of the biggest live stream concert events ever held, selling over 160,000 tickets to fans in over 110 countries and raising funds for several important charities.
This month, Louis unveiled a surprise live album, LIVE, with the digital version comprising a collection of 15 songs, all released live for the very first time. Each song was recorded in a different city, at a different show, spanning the past 3 years across Louis's two global world tours which have seen him perform over 170 shows to date. LIVE will also be released on CD and LP on August 23 with 3 additional tracks exclusive to the physical formats only. Both are available now to pre-order. The CD includes exclusive live versions of “High In California” and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go,” while the LP includes exclusive live versions of “High In California,” “Only The Brave” and “Kill My Mind.”
As Louis wraps up his tour, Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez - Curva 4 will provide a dynamic backdrop for a livestream performance. As one of the biggest artists for new fans on Veeps, this concert is not just a show; it's a global event, bringing together fans from all corners of the world to celebrate the music of one of the most influential artists of our time.
Tickets to Louis Tomlinson - For Every Question Why: Live and Direct from Mexico City will be available for $16.99 at https://veeps.events/louis-tomlinson-live-from-mexico. The cast of Cabaret on Broadway features 22 performers, 12 prologue performers, six Broadway debuts, one Tony Award nominee (Ato Blankson-Wood), and two Tony Award winners (Bebe Neuwirth and Eddie Redmayne).
Cabaret takes up residence at the August Wilson Theatre following Funny Girl, which closed on September 3, 2023. The last revival of Cabaret opened at Studio 54 in 2014.
Meet the cast of Cabaret below!
Eddie Redmayne - Emcee
Last year, the Academy and Tony Award winner led the electrifying West End revival of Cabaret alongside Jessie Buckley. Redmayne starred as The Emcee for which he went on to win the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical and the show won a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards including Best Musical Revival. For the upcoming Broadway production, he will reprise the role and again serve as producer. Redmayne most recently received critical acclaim and BAFTA, SAG, and Golden Globe nominations for his chilling performance in Netflix’s The Good Nurse. The actor starred as ‘Charlie Cullen,’ one of the most prolific serial killers in history. Prior to this, Redmayne could be seen in Aaron Sorkin’s award-winning The Trial of the Chicago Seven and in the Fantastic Beasts series, which has grossed over $1.8 billion at the global box office to date. Redmayne gave an Academy Award, SAG, BAFTA, and Golden Globe-winning performance as ‘Stephen Hawking’ in The Theory of Everything. The actor also received an Academy Award nomination for his performance in The Danish Girl and can be seen in the multi award-winning musical film Les Miserables, in addition to My Week with Marilyn, The Aeronauts, Savage Grace, The Good Sheperd, and Elizabeth: The Golden Age. On stage Redmayne’s impressive body of work includes The Goat, Or Who is Sylvia? for which he won an Evening Standard Award and London Critic’s Circle Award; Now or Later, Richard II (London Critic’s Circle Award), and Red, for which he won both Tony and Olivier Awards. On television Redmayne has starred in “Birdsong,” “The Pillars of the Earth,” “Tess of the D’Urbervilles,” and next year will play ‘The Jackal’ in an updated reimagining of Frederick Forsyth’s iconic novel “The Day of the Jackal,” which he will also executive produce.

At BroadwayWorld.com’s message boards, there’s an extensive thread devoted to the now-underway preview period for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. As a warning, the reports are mostly negative thus far.

The major changes, some of which were known for a while, some of which were not, include:
1) Several songs from the West End version have been completely dropped: “Almost Nearly Perfect”, “The Double Bubble Duchess’, “It’s Teavee Time”, “Simply Second Nature”, “Juicy!”, “A Little Me”, and the closing reprise of “It Must Be Believed to Be Seen”.
2) Other songs appear to have been substantially rewritten and/or repurposed. “The Amazing Tale of Mr. Willy Wonka” is now “Tales of Wonka”, a solo for Grandpa Joe. “If Your Mother Were Here” is now “If Your Father Were Here”, a solo for Mrs. Bucket that includes a brief fantasy dance sequence between her and Mr. Bucket (who, as I predicted, died before the action of this version begins). It also appears that the “Grandpa Joe/How’d you know...” lines from “Don’cha Pinch Me Charlie” have been retained and interpolated into the “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket” and “Pure Imagination” numbers lifted from the 1971 film, and listed as “Grandpa Joe” in the Playbill.
3) The all(?)-new songs are: “Willy Wonka! Willy Wonka!” (Charlie and the company), “What Could Possibly Go Wrong?” (Mrs. Teavee and Mike), “When Willy Met Oompa” (Mr. Wonka and the Oompa-Loompas), and “The View from Here” (Mr. Wonka and Charlie). “Queen of Pop”, introduced as a replacement for “The Double Bubble Duchess” in the final months of the London run, has carried over to this version. There is also a new finale: A reprise of “Strike That! Reverse It!” led by Charlie.
4) The songs from the 1971 film that appear are “The Candy Man”, “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket”, “The Oompa-Loompa Song” (it only appears once, when the characters first appear in Act Two), and of course “Pure Imagination”.
5) With the exception of the Great Glass Elevator, none of the West End set designs have been ported across The Pond intact. Although both productions have the same designer, the sets are apparently very different and less lavish.
6) The Oompa-Loompas are now realized with puppets rather than members of the ensemble in trick costumes.
7) Willy Wonka appears as himself at the top of the show to lead the company in “The Candy Man”, the new opening number, rather than not appearing until the end of Act One. (As of this post, there haven’t been many details released about exactly how the plot unfolds in Act One and how this can be possible.)
8) And of course, in this version all the characters, with the exception of Charlie, are played by adults.
