beth had been in the town for quite some time, and while she was used to being alone, she had recently had gotten a group of friends. the funniest part was she had already known 2 of them. they had all sat at the same lunch table for months, and never spoken. yolanda montez had only been there a few months, after some private photos were spread around the school. beth felt bad for her. she trusted someone who betrayed her. she knew other people were like she shouldn’t have sent them to henry her boyfriend, but beth knew she must of really cared about him and trusted him. beth had never felt that way about someone and if she did probably would’ve done the same. the other one was rick tyler.
rick was the kind of kid who got into fights, into trouble, he was angry and withdrawn, and beth always wondered why. was there more to rick that the world just couldn’t see? she tried to smile a few times and he either didn’t see her or didn’t care. it wasn’t until courtney whitmore came to school, that they all became friends, and even crazier: superheros. it was then she learned more about rick, and how his parents died and left him to save his life, with his awful uncle. that would make anyone angry. the more beth got to know rick however, she realized how kind and sweet actually was. he defended yolanda, was there for her when her ex henry died in front of them, had courtney’s back, and even hers. beth was glad to have been proven right. now she missed her friends.
beth had finished her shift at the library, and began to walk home. she hadn’t known how she got there, but she in truth beth chapel fashion was determined to make the best of it. as she walked down the street to her place, she saw a familar young man. she looked closer and became excited. probably too excited but she called out ❝rick?❞ and realzing it was him, she hugged him. beth wasn’t sure if he’d be as happy to see her, so she pulled away ❝how long have you been here?❞
