Week 2/52: January 9th - January 15th 2023 | Alley 16 (Yakinunu Part 3) 🧢

Finally a day off after working for 6 days in a row. Went to eat yakiniku (Japanese bbq) for our “yakinunu” hangouts with Jesslyn LOL. Ordered the personal set with beef, chicken, pork, squid, mushrooms, zucchini, and seaweed. Came with rice! Grilled everything and ate slowly HAHAHAH. The beef was so good 😭 !!!! God I love beef on bbq. Got coconut pudding for dessert at Milko. So yums :’D Tried the double coconut pudding and the purple yam coconut pudding. DUANG DUANG DUANG!! First time going out and taking photos with new phone/camera!!!!! Really happy with the back camera’s quality. Front camera is wayyyyy too clear on this one while my old phone’s front camera is way too shitty...... I need something in between in order to get nice selfies KJKLSFJS but for now - mirror selfies with back camera are superior.

Side note it’s super warm in YVR right now... 12 degrees today... literally running around FREELY during the winter with thin clothes. Amazing really... Froze to death during Christmas break for a reason I guess LMAO. It’s been warm this entire January so far. Worth!!!!

Week 51.2/52: December 19th - December 25th 2022 | Christmas Trees! 🎄

Every year I go on a Christmas tree hunt aka I go around downtown to take photos of the trees in the hotels (surprisingly have never gotten kicked out of places but ya lol). This year I saw on XHS that Rosewood Hotel has super pretty decorations so of course I just zoomed there. It is the prettiest Christmas set up I have EVER seen!!!!! There were actually two people sitting on the couch next to the tree while I took these... so awkward LMAO especially when the man said “nice pose” lol...... he’s an old man LOL so not as creepy as it sounds but still.. wtf.... After Rosewood Hotel, I had to go to McArthurGlen Outlet to pick up bf’s Christmas gift so I did that and then took a photo with the giant tree in there. There are so many cute decorations at the outlet - worth the visit during holiday season. 

Did I mention HOW COLD IT WAS ON THIS DAY?????? NEVER AGAIN!

Week 17.5/52: April 24th - April 30th 2023 | Dad’s Birthday 🎂🌶️

Home for one day before I head out to Abby again. Went to Golden Sichuan Hot Pot to eat some frog hot pot for my dad’s birthday. Food was pretty good and solid... very flavourful. The iced jelly got me peeing for days. And the brown sugar mochi desserts were so good! My hair is a nice shade of pink now, I’m pretty happy about that.

Week 7.7/52: February 13th - February 19th 2023 | Burger Crush 🍔

Finally a going out date with bf after almost 2 months 😭 Kind of cold and walked a lot today that my lungs hurt (why am I a grandpa???) We went to try Burger Crush downtown which is supposed to be a Shake Shack/In n Out dupe and it was sooooo good!!!!!! Tried their cheeseburger and crush fries and both tasted really good, especially the fries!!!!!! That cheese sauce is chef’s kiss fr. Will come back for sure LOL my favourite burgers in Vancouver. BIG YUMS!!!!

Week 3.6/52: January 16th - January 22nd 2023 | Chinese New Year 🧧

Last day at home/of rest before I head off to Calgary again for the 5th time in the past 14 months LMAO; YYC is really my 2nd home now. Gonna be on semi-hiatus until early/mid Feb because I am not bringing my laptop with me (as usual)... Because I am away during actual CNY in two days, I went to eat with my parents as an early celebration. Went to eat Sichuan food at 半步仙小酒館 and they had super bad service lol. We just wanted an extra bag for our takeout container because our old bag was leaking out sauce and the woman refused to give us another one and implied that we are stupid... :| so mean........ really terrible attitude!!!! And she made us feel like shit. It’s just a bag bro... and this was at the end of the meal after all of their passive aggressiveness the entire meal and how annoyed they visibly were every time we asked them for anything. I don’t like places with people like this :-( I have never had such bad service like this it’s actually kind of shocking WTF no one would want to return under these circumstances. Kind of ruined the day tbh. Food was pretty good though but not quite 10/10. Couldn’t stop eating because the dishes were so 下饭 and then suddenly I was super full. Spicy fish, 毛血旺, cabbage rice noodles, 牛蛙, & 锅包肉.... nice. Good meal but bad place! >_<

Week 43/52: October 23rd - October 29th 2023 | Daan Go

KT wanted to go eat dessert and bbt on my only day off so we did that LMAO. Went to MACU tea and got my favourite 多肉葡萄 (my favourite drink of all time tbh and their cheese foam is SO good). And then we went to Daan Go Bakery and I tried their ramen cake. So sweet HAAHAHAH but so cute! Also expensive af LMAO.

Week 14.4/52: April 3rd - April 9th 2023 | Lansdowne Carnival 🎪🎠🎟 🎡

Went to the Carnival with bf!! We wanted to go together last year but he was out of town until it ended :-( but we are making up for it a year later and so happy!! Finally wearing a new outfit for the first time in 4.5 weeks AHAHAHAA. Very exciting. The carnival was extremely crowded. Spent at least 3 hours just lining up tbh... line up to get tickets, line up for each and every ride. The only line ups that were fast were for food lol. We went on 3 rides: ferris wheel, carousel, and bumper cars. All very fun! And super long line ups too. Haven’t been here for 11-12 years so I was super excited about this day!!!! Also tried some carnival food from Steve-O’s: flaming hot cheeto chicken poutine & deep fried mars bar. Very yum!!!!!! :D
