🔆 Celebrate This Eternal Summer
To my fellow witches who lives along the equator and has only one season all year-long, I know how you feel.
I woke up this morning and was plagued with envy seeing other witches celebrate Imbolc and Lammas. I can't. Well, I can, of course, but it wouldn't feel right to me. I'll be celebrating the changing of seasons, something that is completely irrelevant to my experience. Something that wasn't made for witches like me, who only goes through one season. I'll just be celebrating my exclusion.
So I decided, that there should be a celebration for us too. That seasons that are eternal are as beautiful as seasons that changes, and deserving of equal praise.
Celebrate the sun. Praise the daylight, how it basks you in its glow and nourishes the swaying trees. How it never leaves you.
Celebrate the rain. They come and go and coats us all with the love of a mother, damping the soil and wetting the leaves. Dream of the rainy months, when farmers rejoiced and the rice we cook taste like life itself.
Celebrate the harvest. Our pride and joy. Taste its sweetness and remember that its time is fleeting, that the coming month it'll be the harvest season for another plant, and another, and another, as mother earth has graced us with a land that continues giving.
Celebrate the animals. A million different kinds, all of which you cannot find in any other place in the world. Only here, where the season is everlasting.
Celebrate the ground. Appreciate our gift of fertility. Our seasons never change, because the earth had made our nature eternal. Flowers that never wilt and leaves that never fall.
Celebrate eternity. We will have sun and rain for as long as we live, we have no drought because our oceans are vast and wide, we live under the cool shade of mountains so tall it scrapes the sky. Our nature would outlive us, and it will do so for eternity.
