Hunting the Truth - Part 3
Back in the Chantry, Aleyanna continued her search for answers. She had a couple right now, but every answer seemed to bring up another question regarding Raven. She wasn’t sure where this round would take her, but by not jumping into this fray, she would never truly know.
Two debriefings were made available to her. The first came from around six and a half years ago regarding the outcome of Project Blackfeather. And as it turned out, bandits were in unison with the White Mantle, albeit only the senior members of these thugs truly knew. Everyone below them was just trying to get by, no matter what. Of note was that the other members with Raven did not return and it was suggested to come back in two weeks time if they didn’t return. This was about as much as she could gather, as additional information was restricted for Keeper access.
Cursing herself for only being a Lightbringer, she turned to the other recording, taken from the aftermath of Scarlet’s attack on Lion’s Arch. She was speaking with a man called Solomon Engelhardt. It took some prodding and convincing but Aleyanna was able to find out that Solomon had close ties to the Mantle, including some known associates. All of those were deceased however, so she was out of luck on that end.
Most of her answers were satisfied by now. But she needed to hear from someone who knew her well. The only one available was her former mentor, and upon hearing that he was up in Bitterfrost, the operative cursed lightly under her breath. But there was no time to waste. So, after sending Ivory back to the shared house with a letter explaining that she would be late in coming home, Aleyanna suited herself up with appropriate garb and started entering in the waypoint coordinates for the region. Raven was cunning, but Aleyanna was right on her trail.
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
