Human Form!Bryaxis has been occupying my brain so here’s a quick doodle. Some headcanons:
• Learns how to take on a human form after quietly observing the library’s Priestesses.
• An exiled Death God of Nightmares, confined to his beastly form at the NC library after challenging Koschei centuries ago and losing. Their dispute was over Koschei’s treatment of the females at the lake, which Bryaxis perceived as cruel and unnecessary.
• Stripped of most of his powers, he is but a reflection of other people’s worst nightmares. In his beastly form, his presence is enough to incite the horrid visions; in his human form, you must look into his depthless eyes. Your visions will occur whether he wants them to or not. He usually doesn’t.
• He sees the nightmares of all the Priestesses when they sleep at night, but due to the nature of his being, he is unable to stop any of them.
• Sometimes, he sleeps, too, and is plagued by nightmares of his own. When he does, he claws at his own skin, leaving scars that often take weeks to fade.
• In his human form, he has a deep, lulling voice that can compel anyone to fall asleep in mere seconds.
A silly little comic by @dawneternal commissioned by me. It started as a joke about the cute moth man plushie (as linked) looking like Cassian and Bryaxis had a baby and me going “CASSIAN THIS IS YOUR BABY”
Had a dream last night where there was either a whole new acotar book or one of the existing ones was majorly rewritten, idk a lot was going on, but a big highlight was that Bryaxis used am/is as pronouns.
@koscheionthelake @therealbryaxis @stryganona Where’s the Bone Carver at? Are all Death gods coming to the party? Should I bring wine or blood sacrifices?
Hey!! I’m Anna and I would LOVE if you wrote abt Bryaxis and Feyre, how good of a friend Feyre was to him and how she invited him to a party where everybody was wary about him but he transformed into a human being (temporarily ofc) as Feyre hugged without caring about people’s nasty stares. Ok secondly, IM SO SORRY for asking you to write this, OFC if you don’t want to it’s perfectly fine. I just was dreaming about this and loved the idea. Bye!! Hope you reply soon :)
Hello Darling! Sorry it took a while but my Sunday was rather busy ahahhaah I must admit that this is different from what I’m used to write but it was a nice experience, thanks for your request ❤️❤️ I really hope you enjoy it 🥺
Bryaxis wasn’t exactly the life of the party, but when Feyre, the only fae that has ever been nice to him suggested that he could control his powers and didn’t have to live locked up in the bottom of the library he decided to try.
The human skin felt weird, all his being contained on a fragile body made of flesh and bones. He watched himself in the mirror again, the suit looked nice, his long straight hair, reached the middle of his back and his eyes were a shade of gray.
His power would hum under his skin, he could sense the fear and see clearly in his mind what exactly would cause terror and break each person in that crowded room.
The tall Illyrian was the one who would give him the dirtiest looks, the general was very aware of what sneaked under the human skin he chose, he could still feel the pungent taste of his terror in the tip of his tongue.
The High lord was polite to him, whatever it made his mate happy, he would go along, even if it meant he ended up hanging out with that fucking creature from the library that made his bones chill on a Friday Night at Rita’s.
Feyre grabbed his hand, the abnormally pale skin in contrast with the glow of hers, pulling him towards the dance floor as the song started to get more agitated. Bodies bumped against him and he moved weirdly, but he enjoyed the feeling of belonging somewhere.
The female was kind to him, more than anyone has ever been, talking with him and including him in conversations, trying to make the rest of the group warm up to his presence.
As his skin felt tighter and the grip in his powers started to slip through his fingers, he decided to call it a night.
“Thanks for inviting me tonight, it felt surprisingly nice.” He thanked the smiling female.
“You know, everyone needs a friend.” She smiled even wider, hugging him goodbye.
“Then I’m glad it’s you, you’re a good friend Feyre.” He said, before he disappeared into the night, reaching the library right on time, before the human body dissipated and he was free to be the endless being he was, resting peacefully in the darkness.
