There is no way Aya shows up out of no where. In my opinion , she must serve a purpose in the final battle later between the Agency and the Hunting Dogs. I am looking forward to see her, and potentially her father (who is also a well-known author in Japanese literature) in the upcoming story.

(Tbh I think it’s planned long time ago, or else Asagiri wouldn’t have named her the daughter of Koda Rohan.)

Personally, I do not think Jouno will join Fukuchi. Obviously, he likes to watch people in agony. However, if he wanted to watch hoards of innocent people suffer or kill a large number of the population he could've easily become a terrorist himself. But instead he chose to work for the government, for justice. Of course, one could argue that it was just his version of justifying his sadistic tendencies, but the idea still stands that if he was that cruel of a person then whether or not his actions were "justified" would not matter.

I don't know what Fukuchi's reaction would be to Jouno turning him down, though.

Speculation/hypothetical: Jouno joining the ADA (and then the PM)

Jouno has already mentioned, half jokingly, that he’d want to join the ADA after this all ended if the HD wound up losing. Well let’s look at this hypothetical then, but with the addition of Mori’s agreement with Fukuzawa to take an ADA member in exchange for his and the PM’s help (which I looked at with current ADA members here).

I did look at the possibility of Jouno joining other organizations here but from the perspective of whether or not he’d actually agree to help Fukuchi. IF Jouno does later wind up joining the ADA, he may become eligible to join the PM through the exchange deal (albeit depending on timing, but I doubt Mori would take anyone in the middle of the climax). I do think that personality and even history wise, he’s in a very similar position to Dazai when it comes to “do you want to join/rejoin the PM?” He was also previously an executive in a criminal organization but has since learned the genuine reward and desire to help and protect the innocent masses (which Dazai learned from Oda and I’d be willing to bet that he’s learned it more firsthand overtime and believes it more now, since having joined the ADA). He probably also qualifies very well for filling Dazai’s empty executive seat, so in this hypothetical he could be chosen for that reason.

His sadistic nature does still stand, but it appears to now more so be both a general thing that he enjoys and something that guides him when it comes to interrogations, but now with the caveat of having learned the pleasure of protecting others. He’s still sadistic but he won’t be so nondiscriminatory with it, because he does care about protecting the civilians.

Also, Jouno being chosen in this hypothetical would spare Kunikida a lot of mental torture cause I wouldn’t be surprised if Jouno joined Dazai in messing with Kunikida if he stays.

Anyway, this is just a fun little hypothetical I thought of while discussing ch 93 over on Kani's server and then thought of again while prepping the “who does Mori actually want from the ADA?” for posting on here. As always, I’d love to hear other thoughts and opinions!
