as u can tell from the last post, i was rereading the ptsd entry in the dsm for the thesis. in the interest of fair analysis i used two seperate highlighter colors: blue for things you can directly observe in the text (like the fact thst the competiton happened, his jumpiness, and his distrust of others) and green for things that you CAN make the argument for but it takes a bit of textual analysis to Get There (like flashbacks, if you consider him zoning out in the bloody classroom to be one)
i say all this bc in the interest of fairness i DID NOT highlight anything sleep related, because like. we dont really see him sleep? HOWEVER it does make me think, like... he's tardy to breakfast a lot (or at least he was when he showed up) and stayed up late reading in chapter 2. IF THIS PATTERN CONTINUES, it could point to him not really sleeping very well, if he's up late every night and sleeps in. so it could (should?) be something i look out for going forward
analysis update: i got that togaminsomina goimg on. every time i think ive turned over every stone. another one is turned over. over and over and ovee the stones tumble. i am in the rock tumbl(e)r of life and i am getting polished into a beautiful sheen but my god is there so much going around an d around. i hate him
me when i have fun. me when i have fucking FUNNN
PLEASE DONT MAKE ME EMAIL AN ACTUAL FUCKING PROFESSIONAL WHO WROTE A FUCKING RESEARCH PAPER ON ACTUAL REAL WORLD ISSUES. FOR MY. BYAKUYA TOGAMI ANALYSIS
I KNEWWWW IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO PLAY THH IN TANDEM WITH MY LP SCREENSHOTS BC THERE WAS. AN ENTIRE BYAKUYA CONVERSATION THAT STRAIGHT UP IS NOT IN THE LETS PLAY??? COOL MAN THANKS. FOR THAT.
anyway im really glad i spent all that time painstakingly establishing the precedent that byakuya really only goes out of his way to insult someone if he's feeling cornered, threatened, or otherwise small in some way. and he very much REAMS into makoto here, saying that it was his fault thar sayaka's dead. AND he's standing right outside makoto's door. hifumi and leon are also just in the hallway, but like-- leon is obvious why he doesnt wanna be in there. hifumi also makes sense. but byakuya "allegedly enjoying the game" togami, dont you wanna like... do the game? the game you like? moida and da investagatione? are we perhaps feeling a bit scared and lashing out. do we perhaps have some kind of past event that makes us especially stressed out in this situation. if only we had a name for that
no but fr its really cool (""""""""cool"""""""") to make an analysis with its thesis being "hey you know this one aspect of the character pretty much everyone, including people who clock that he's putting on a facade, agrees is real? i don't agree!" when i have gotten Horrific Consequences for like. stupid joke analyses i do for fun. this fucking blonde man is leading me to places i wouldnt even go with a gun. a gatling gun perhaps
ANAYLSIS UPDATE: uh oh.
analysis update 2: finished with chapter 1. starting chapter 2. thoughts so far:
his speech about how cooperation wont work and the only way out is by playing the game is the most hes spoken in the entire game so far
he doesnt really help much in the investigation. i had more here but im holding back until the actual analysis post
he hesitates a LOT more than youd think and SO MUCH in the trial. some of these are clearly pauses for dramatic effect and some of these r straight up just he's trailing off at the end of his sentence
so yeah thats. yeah. very interesting so far and my chapter 1 analysis is the piss boring work of eatablishing a precedent of behavior. and what a precedent it is!!!!
