“I’m pretty sure you must have ingested amortentia or something, _______.” Kim Taehyung, a fifth-year Gryffindor, doubted your true intentions towards him as of this moment. “We could go down and ask Professor Slughorn for the antidote.”
However, you are persistent with the way you keep reaching for his left hand which was resting atop the table, wanting to feel his skin against yours. You see, it’s not that you drank a love potion to openly flirt with him in the library, much to the dismay of other studious Ravenclaws occupying the place. In fact, you’re pretty sure you haven’t drunk any kinds of potions at all this afternoon.
The only beverage you remember drinking was the lemonade served to you by Jungkook and Jimin before they ran off somewhere, leaving you to become more energized the entire afternoon. All you can think about after lunch was to find Taehyung and confess before anyone else dares to steal the opportunity. Blame it on your overconfidence flowing through your veins.
“Why would I need any antidote for a potion that I never drink, Tae?” the simple use of his nickname instantly made him blushed, even up to his ears. “I am trying to express my feelings for you in the only way I know, don’t deny it when both of us know you feel the same way—“ for me, but you couldn’t finished the sentence without someone hushing your loud voice, even when you’re sure you only whispered it to him.
“Who told you that!” He cried, making the little jar of ink splattered all over his parchment, “bloody hell, now I need to do the Potions homework all over again.” He groaned not to loudly. You momentarily let go of clinging onto his forearm, giving him a bit of space to fix up the mess on the table before it stains the book he borrowed in the library.
“I’m pretty sure almost everybody have already noticed your lingering stares at me, even Jungkook and Jimin knows it too.” You commented, reaching for the book and closing it,
“And you know I can help you with that,” you added as he glanced at you pointing at his ruined parchment, “I’m good at potions!”
He grumbled without tearing his eyes off his things, “I know you are.”
“But why didn’t you asked me beforehand? Are you too shy to approach me?” You then went back to what you were trying to do, holding his hand. You felt his palm getting all sweaty despite the cold winter air filling the room. “I assume that the flushing of your face answered my question.” You teased, poking your index against his cheek. He was more flustered than ever.
“Look, whatever prank you guys planned on me must stop,” Taehyung sighed in defeat, “It’s not funny anymore.”
“I’m—we’re not making fun of your feelings for me, Tae.”
To prove more, you didn’t even hesitate to place a kiss on his cheek, “I really like you!”
He only gasped, finding the courage to look at you, his best friend since he started going to Hogwarts. “You do?”
You nodded your head gleefully in response, “Since we first met.”

“You fucking knobheads!” You cursed loudly once you see the two menaces at the end of the corridor. Their eyes widening at your fuming face before running off towards the moving staircases. You chased after the two who has mixed liquid luck into the lemonade earlier this noon, leaving an amused Gryffindor watching you keep up with the fast-paced Jungkook and Jimin.
Yours and his feelings were resolved long before the effects of potion faded within your system. And with your incredible intelligence in potion-making, it wouldn’t take too long until you become fully aware of what the two have given you. But you can’t deny that it was a great push for you to admit your hidden feelings with your best friend for oh so many years.
And pretty sure the two bled their ears out from you for so long, hearing you babble about Kim Taehyung to the extent where they came up with such a devious plan to get things over with. At least you won’t worry about his admirers anymore now that you are his
girlfriend.
Oh, the thought only made your heart flutter even more.
This was not requested by anyone but me lol. I was inspired by my favourite hogwarts!BTS blog @ur-a-wizard-bts!!!!! Please follow it if you haven’t already, it happens to be my best friend in the entire world’s art blog and she’s crazy talented and funny and I love her a lot.
RM
Teachers hate him because he manages to break things/do something completely wrong in almost every class, he goes hard supporting the boys playing quidditch, gives advice for everything but he doesn’t usually know shit, is probably good at DADA, is the one who always lies to the younger kids about monsters in the Forbidden Forest.
Jin
Resident mom of the Gryffindor commons, gossiping and knowing all the gossip that’s going around, people going to Jin to confirm or deny gossip, saving the maknae line from doing dumb stuff like every day, watching quidditch matches and cheering for the boys who play, really really good at herbology.
Suga
Runs potions tutoring for kids not doing so well, pretends to hate everyone (but is soft), talks to the giant squid through the dungeon window, Jimin is always around somewhere, Animagus, sits in front of the fire place (as a cat), the professors probably all love him because he’s one of the only students who actually does his homework.
J-Hope
Afraid of flying (and will do everything to avoid getting on a broom), sunshine of Hogwarts (along with Jimin), is the prefect and becomes the head boy because everyone loves him so much, regularly stops Taehyung from killing Jungkook when Hufflepuff plays Ravenclaw, gets away with everything because the professors never believe that he would do anything wrong (but he really does omfg).
Jimin
He did not think that he would be a Slytherin at all (he was sure he was going to be Hufflepuff with Tae), but he is the Slytherin prince™ now, becomes friends with all of Hagrid’s creatures (and brings them into the castle all the time), loves to hang out in the kitchens with Jin and chat to the house elves.
Taehyung
Friends with everyone including the giant squid, awesome at charms!! Probably tutors Jimin because he is garbage at wand magic (he won’t let him forget it, either), gets far too hype about quidditch and spends most of their games trying to hit Jungkook with bludgers, probably has a new hair colour every week, shenanigans with the rest of the maknae line all the time
Jungkook
Competitive as fuck when it comes to quidditch, probably almost murdered by Taehyung every quidditch game because he insults him (like, ‘Scared, Potter?’ sorta bullshit), doesn’t have a house best friend but makes up for it by following everyone around all the time, good at all classes (and literally everyone hates him because of it).

Note: Little bit of angstiness for you. Nothing too sad I don’t think. Oh, also, William is Jungkook’s toad. Lol. We’ll be introducing their pets as the story continues.
It was 10:25 pm, twenty-five minutes after curfew, the half-moon covered with dark grey clouds and the castle eerily quiet, the only sounds were the distant snores of paintings and the delicate footsteps of Jungkook and Taehyung. They crept as silently as possible around the bricked up castle walls, desperately hoping that Filch wouldn’t be up and about to spoil the fun.
Sneaking around was not something the boys were unfamiliar with. The separation of house common rooms and dorms constantly had them needing to break a few rules, and although it was much easier for Suga to get away with, the younger members still followed suit, not caring if they were caught either way.
The closer they got to Gryffindor Tower the more sad Jungkook seemed to feel. He reminisced about the first time he came to Hogwarts and how he met Taehyung, his eyes sad as he looked over to the elder boy tiptoeing next to him. Once they’d successfully made it up the ever moving staircases, they spotted the red-locked Gryffindor stood next to the portrait of The Fat Lady - the very recognisable Gryffindor Common Room Entrance.
“Are you really wearing that to bed?” Taehyung teased Jimin who was wearing an oversized Gryffindor Quidditch Jumper and striped pyjama pants.
“I just saw Filch’s cat so can you stop making fun of my outfit choice and hurry up please,” Jimin moaned back, turning to The Fat Lady seemingly relaxed for having seen Filch’s minion so very close, “Levisticum officinale.” The Fat Lady had gotten so used to the presence of Taehyung and Jungkook she simply smiled, allowing them to enter once Jimin had spoken the password, whether she knew they were of a different house or not. She did, however, give the boys a short telling off for being out at this time of night.
“It’s our last day, the only one who should be worried about getting caught is Kookie.” Taehyung teased, unaware of the hurt his comment had caused Jungkook as they climbing the winding stairs of the Gryffindor tower.
The common room was unusually lively due to it being the last day before Summer break. The whole common room was decorated with Gryffindor flags and banners, warm coloured patterned cushions scattered the floor and the crackling fire lit up the whole room. Jimin hurried the boys inside and claimed a small cushioned area beside the fire.
Taehyung flopped down next to Jimin, sighing as his body relaxed into the cushioned floor beneath him. “Tell me why it was necessary for us to come all the way to the Gryffindor common room when it's much more simple for us to meet in the dungeon?” Taehyung complained.
“Well if Hufflepuff’s didn’t snitch so much and Slytherin’s didn’t have such a grudge against other houses we wouldn’t have had to meet here.” Jimin teased, earning him a delicate smack of Taehyung’s hand and a chuckle from Jungkook.
“I still can’t believe you dyed your hair red hyung.” Jungkook spoke shyly as he joined the two boys.
“Ahh, so he does speak.” Taehyung wrapped his excited arms around the younger as he positioned himself on the ground, finally aware of how unusually quiet Jungkook had been. Jungkook chuckled and shook Taehyung’s arms off of him.
“I was just so hyped up for my last match, I wanted to sport my house colours proudly for the last time.” Jimin smiled, passing around a box of chocolate truffles which the boys gladly shared from. Jungkook’s smile seemed to get weaker after every comment they made when referencing the fact they were leaving.
After what seemed like only a couple of minutes playing round after round of Exploding Snap, Truth or Dare and eating a whole giant box of Bertie Bott’s Bean’s to the point Taehyung had to lie down for thirty minutes for fear of throwing up, it had turned 1 AM, and most of the Gryffindor students had started to clear out to their dorm rooms.
“I can’t believe how much stress we’ve been through this year Jimin, Jungkook you’ve had it so easy.” Taehyung sighed.
“I know, I’m sad we’re leaving but the relief of exams being over overshadows that so much.”
Jungkook fell silent as his two best friends debated about their future options and struggles, talking much like Jungkook was not even present. Jungkook hadn’t explained how he felt about the situation at hand with anyone. He had briefly mentioned to Namjoon that he had already begun to feel alone in the last letter he had written due to his two friends being busy with exams, but at that point, his feelings weren’t as prominent as they were now. He thought it would blow over. It hadn’t. The less he refused to acknowledge the hurt brewing within him the more it spread.
“So what are you planning to do this Summer Kookie?” Jimin asked as he unwrapped the final chocolate truffle and popped it into his mouth.
Jungkook sighed, breaking his in-depth thought process, “I don’t know, I think I’m just gonna try and get a job in the city, get a little bit of money together, maybe save up for a new broom for next year.”
“I wish that's what I was doing,” Taehyung groaned, “Muggle jobs sound so interesting! You know I’ve got to go all the way to Devon to meet with this Professional Magizoologist for even the slightest chance at a second interview, it's gotten me so nervous.”
“At least you can stay with Yoongi-hyung for a while,” Jungkook replied, a small attempt at helping Taehyung see a positive of the situation.
“Yeah Kookie, you’re so lucky to still be here for another year, all care free! I’ve got to do 600 hours of nursing prep before I can even start learning practically.” Jimin sighed, almost passing off Jungkook’s comment like he never even said it. Jimin didn’t intending for his comment to come off like he was scolding Jungkook, but after all of Jungkook’s held in emotion and his friends constant seemed-to-be ignorance to his feelings, it was hard for him not to be offended.
“Yah, Kookie, whats with the long face? You don’t have anything to be scowling about, me and Jimin are facing the harsh realities of the cruel world here.” Taehyung chuckled when Jungkook fell silent but stopped after he’d realised there seemed to be a problem with the younger boy.
“Why do you both keep acting like I don’t have anything to worry about? Like your lives are so much harder than mine?” Jungkook’s voice was raised slightly, his outburst causing Jimin’s eyes to open a little wider than usual and Taehyung’s lips to part slightly, “Why do you keep brushing off my comments as if I’m not ever here?”
“Kookie, we didn't-“
“Listen,” Jungkook interrupted Taehyung, “I know you’re leaving, and I know you won’t be too bothered about me with your busy lives ahead of you after you’re gone, but you could at least pretend just for now that I’m still here!”
The common room was silent. Jungkook’s eyes were shining over and Taehyung delicately rested his hand on the younger boys leg for comfort. Jungkook was shocked at his own outburst and bit his lip, facing the floor desperate to keep a calm collected demeanour despite having just shouted at his friends for leaving him out.
“Jungkook,” Jimin whispered sadly sitting up to look at the broken-down boy in front of him, “You know for a fact that is not our intentions. Tell us whats going on.”
“It’s just,” Jungkook was quite, “When Jin-hyung and Yoongi-hyung left, I was upset. I was upset when Hoseok-hyung left. I was upset when Namjoon-hyung left. But now, I know you’re both leaving and I’m not upset. I feel lost. I don’t understand how to feel.”
“We understand, it’s okay to not understand yourself sometimes. Are you worried?” Taehyung was especially gentle to the younger boy.
Jungkook had begun to cry now, and Jimin’s eyes had also become watery, “I-I think I am. I just don’t know what I’ll do. Who will I eat with at lunch and breaks? And who will help me with Herbology? And who’s going to cheer for me at games? A-And who will I sneak out with, go to Hogsmeade with, ride the train with, laugh with? I have no-one. You’ll all be gone. And I’ll be stuck here. Alone.”
“Jungkook stop thinking like that, you have to be positive, you have plenty of other friends, firstly, and we’ll still be with you, we’ll write to you every day if we have to. And we’ll visit. You can’t think we won’t be here for you, we will, you know we’ll be at every game you have. You know Hoseok always comes to visit too! Of course we’re going to be busy Kookie, but we love you. You know we’ll always support you where we can.” Taehyung attempted to comfort further, very worried by how visibly shaken up Jungkook had become in mere minutes.
“I’m worried that, after you’ve all gone, you’ll forget about me. I came into your friend group last and I feel like I only really contact the rest of the boys through you and when you’re gone I feel like I’ll just be some weird kid you all knew in school.”
“Jeon Jeongguk,” Jimin shuffled closer to the boy, his red locks dangling messily in his face, “It’s not ‘your’ friend group, it's ‘our’ friend group. Jungkook you are so important to us. You made our friendship group complete. Without you, it wouldn’t be the same. We’re hurt we have to leave you too.” Jimin’s voice had begun to break as he confessed to Jungkook, “Y’know for this past week I’ve cried every night because I don’t want to leave this place. I don’t want to leave this home I’ve made for myself. This home you’ve all made for me. This place is my entire life. My childhood. And I’d stay if I could I truly would. I don’t want to leave you. I don’t want to leave Taehyung. But it’s just a part of growing up and moving on and accepting that we won’t always be doing the same thing and living comfortably. We have to accept change as hard as it may be.”
“Every time one of you leaves, it's like a piece of me leaves too.” Taehyung’s heart felt like it had been ripped out of his chest and thrown onto a motorway to be trampled on by thousands of speeding cars as he saw a single tear flow down Jungkook’s flushed cheek.
“Jungkook,” Taehyung began, “The first time I met Suga-hyung I was shaking with fear, afraid he was going to decapitate me. When I met Jin and Hobi, I was so awkward, I wanted to be just like them and I made a fool of myself so many times attempting to impress them. I never in a million years thought that they would view me as important in their lives. And when I met you Jungkook, when I met you I finally understood how it felt to be in their shoes. To have this sweet innocent awkward kid wanting so desperately to be friends with them. I know you’re only a year younger but I understood you, I’d been in your shoes. And it made me realise that our hyungs had been there too. That we are all the same. I don’t even know what I’m trying to say.” Taehyung stopped his speech, his mind clouded with thoughts as he desperately rambled attempting to help Jungkook. His sad eyes fell over to Jimin, a desperation Jimin took as a sign to take over.
“On the day that Suga and Jin left, and we stayed out until 6 AM, we talked about not being complete without each other, remember Kookie?” Jimin spoke, “Remember how we all painted our hands and Jin-hyung took each of us on his shoulders so we could reach that high ceiling and leave our mark? And how we all struggled to lift Jin quickly as Filch came storming over to us, but we didn’t stop? We did it anyway because we couldn’t stand for there to just be six prints left instead of seven. We were all willing to get into so much trouble for the sake of one of us being left behind. I know it's a silly example, but it will be the same when we go Jungkook. Jungkook we love you. We love you so much. I don’t care if I have to do an 18-hour shift and I brake my leg on the way home I’m coming to see your Quidditch game, and I’m standing in those stalls, and I’m shouting ‘Slytherin’ at the top of my Gryffindor lungs because I love you.”
“Jungkook, the next year in Hogwarts will be hard for you. And none of us are going to enjoy facing the fact you’re going to be here without us. But you can’t forget we all love you. You’re one of us. You’re our best friend and our little brother Kookie. We’d never let you walk this world alone. Never.” Taehyung finished.
Jungkook didn’t have much more to say other than a few heavy sobs and mumbled ‘I love you’s’ as they shared tight hugs. All three boys had tear stained cheeks, their eyes heavy and minds tired with grief and yet their hearts swelled with overwhelming amounts of love.
The three of them stayed by the fire that night, not bothering to retire to Jimin’s dorm room, instead, showering each other with excessive amounts of love and warmth, limbs tangled in a pile as they all eventually drifted off. A nervousness and sickly feeling still settled on Jungkook’s stomach at the thought of a lonesome year ahead, but his mind was put somewhat at ease as the delicate snores of Taehyung and soft brushes of Jimin’s fingers through his hair eased him into a blissful rest.
-
Taking a hold of his suitcase, William tucked up snugly in his shirt pocket Jungkook looked up at the high ceiling of the castle corridor leading into the Courtyard as he began his journey home. The seven coloured hand prints stained the cold grey bricks, bringing to life something so ordinary and familiar. A sense of nostalgia washed over him thinking back to the time he first met all of his friends. His heart hurt that he was to spend the last year without them, their bickering, their strange jokes, their pranks, their laughs, their hugs.
Jungkook wondered if what his friends had said the previous night was true; whether he would be forgotten or not. He pushed the thought into the back of his mind, blaming it on a lack of sleep and his over worrisome personality. He trusted his friends, his brothers, and the only thing he decided to focus on was the present. He could worry about the future when it came to it.
“You have got William haven’t you?” Taehyung joined Jungkook, a look of worry settled on his face. Williams tiny lime green and red freckled nose poking out from Jungkook’s shirt and blessing Taehyung with a sense of relief, “It’s like he wants to make me worry.”
“Remember last year when he went missing for a whole month and showed up in Professor Longbottom’s cup of tea.” Jungkook laughed, the elder boy chuckling along with him. They continued sharing their fond memories as their heavy boots marched along the muddy ground towards the Hogwarts Express.
Jimin stood looking fondly back towards the castle, his heart swollen as Taehyung sneakily snapped a photograph of him, the Polaroid once developed revealing Jimin’s red locks standing out brightly against the dark castle walls and green fields in the distance.
“Jimin, if you don’t get on the train now you’ll be stuck here,” Jungkook said with a sad smile as he joined Taehyung who stood up on one of the carriage entrances.
“I can’t see a problem with the that,” Jimin replied quietly, sighing as he turned his back to his home and jumped onto the Hogwarts Express for the last time. The boys chose not to find seats immediately, but to hang their heads out of the window, looking back as the whistling of the train engine began.
They were unusually quiet for the journey back home. Thoughts surrounding the future, the transition from youth to adulthood, the questions of loneliness and just how their hyungs had done this themselves and carried on so collected circulated in each of their heads. None of them spoke a word about it, however, and as the train started to slow and the screeching of the brakes started to attack their sensitive eardrums, Taehyung darted for the nearest window. Jimin and Jungkook simply shared a confused glance.
Taehyung had started this journey with his head hanging out of the Hogwarts Express window, and so he had decided on the way home that he would end it doing the same thing. Only this time he wasn’t alone in doing so. His two friends had joined him, filling Taehyung with a sense of pride, happiness and most of all, love.
