BTS Toddler Series #26: Valentine’s Day
Kim Seokjin
“Hey, I’m home!” You announce as you push open the front door of your house, stepping inside and shutting the door behind you.
“I’m in the living room!” You heard Jin yell back and after taking off your shoes, you headed in that direction.
“Oh my gosh,” you chuckled as you stepped into the entryway of the living room. The lights were dimmed and there were literally dozens of lit candles placed around the room. There was a plush blanket set up in the middle of the floor and on the blanket were an assortment of fruits and chocolates.
“Surprised?” Jin asked with a smirk as he stepped over to you with his hands behind his back.
“Beyond surprised,” you confirmed with a smile. “How long have you had this planned?”
“About a week now. When you said that you had to work on Valentine’s Day, I decided to just keep things simple,” he explained and you nodded.
“Where’s Kade?”
“With my parents, for the entire weekend,” he smirked.
“Oh, a little presumptive of you to think that you doing all of this means that I’m gonna end up having sex with you tonight,” you teased.
“Well, if the whole romantic setup thing doesn’t work, I know this will,” he said as he pulled his hands from behind his back, revealing a case of your favorite red velvet cupcakes.
“I love you,” you laughed, making Jin do the same before he leaned down and kissed you softly.
Min Yoongi
“Come here,” Yoongi grumbled as he reached across the bed and set his hands on your waist, trying to pull you closer to him.
“Nooo,” you drawled, scooting further away from him. “You’re freezing.”
“It’s February,” he deadpanned.
“That doesn’t mean that your toes have to feel like fucking icicles though,” you shot back.
“Maybe if you’d stop being mean and come cuddle me,” he trailed off.
“Wow, so now I’m being mean.”
“Aish,” Yoongi groaned as he sat up. He gripped your waist tightly before dragging you over to his side of the bed, making you squeal as he tucked your body into his side and wrapped his legs around yours.
“Such a brat,” he huffed. “Even on Valentine’s Day.”
“You know you love it though,” you smirked, making him roll his eyes.
“That’s debatable.”
“You know what-,” you started to say but a sudden knock on your bedroom door made you stop and you and Yoongi both looked over at it.
“Come in baby girl,” Yoongi said and the door creaked up, Kinsley poking her head in before walking inside and over to the bed.
“Can I get in?” Kinsley asked softly and you nodded your head. You watched as she climbed into the bed and she crawled over Yoongi’s body so that she was in the middle of the two of you.
“Maybe I can actually get some cuddles now, huh baby girl?” Yoongi joked as he looked down at Kinsley, who nodded and snuggled into him.
“I can’t stand you,” you laughed.
“Love you too Y/N-ah.”
Kim Namjoon
“Can I help Mommy?” You heard Mason ask and you turned around to see him standing in the doorway of the kitchen.
“Sure, come here,” you nodded and Mason wasted no time in running over to you and standing up on his tip toes so that he could see over the edge of the counter. “Wanna help me put the cookies on the sheet?”
“Yeah,” he agreed, grabbing ahold of the roll of cookie dough that you had cut open for him. “Oh, can we make hearts too? Like that?” He asked as he pointed to the picture on the packaging.
“Yeah sweetie,” you chuckled, moving over to a drawer in order to find the cookie cutters. Once you had them, you spread them out on the counter as you watched Mason pull out the cookie dough.
“Here,” you said as you handed him a heart shaped cutter. You watched with a smile as he expertly pressed it down into the dough, pulling it out after a few seconds and then setting it on the baking sheet in front of him. You ended up letting him do all of the cookies himself, only intervening when necessary.
“Good job Myungie,” you cooed, leaning over and blowing raspberries on his cheek.
“Mommy!” He giggled as he leaned away from you.
“Hey, what’s going on in here?” Namjoon asked as he walked into the kitchen.
“We made cookies,” Mason chirped
“Oh, for Valentine’s Day?” Namjoon wondered and you nodded your head.
“No better way to spend the day than with my boys,” you grinned.
“And eating cookies!” Mason added, making you and Namjoon laugh loudly.
Jung Hoseok
“I don’t know why I let you talk me into this type of stuff,” you huffed as you looked around the club that you and Hobi were in. For Valentine’s Day, you and Hobi had gone out to a nice romantic dinner but on the way home, the two of you passed by this new nightclub that had just opened up and Hobi managed to convince you to go inside to check it out.
“Baby, you’re fine,” Hobi said as he wrapped an arm around your waist.
“I feel so out of place,” you chuckled.
“You're not because you’re with me and you belong with me,” Hobi said.
“That was so freaking corny,” you giggled.
“True but it made you laugh so it was worth it,” he shrugged. “Now, do you feel comfortable enough to come dance with me?”
“Just for a minute, ok?” You relented and Hobi nodded with a wide grin on his face. He grabbed your hand and led you out to the dance floor, where I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston was playing.
“You should be able to keep up with this right?” Hobi teased and you reached out and smacked his shoulder.
“Just because I’m not a dancer extraordinaire like you, that doesn’t mean that I’m not decent now,” you replied as you wrapped your arms around his neck and he wrapped his around your waist before pulling you closer.
“Yeah, it only makes sense that you picked some things up from me after all these years,” Hobi smiled and you rolled your eyes playfully. “But seriously, can you believe that this is our ninth Valentine’s Day together?”
“No,” you giggled. “Feels like it hasn’t been that long at all.”
“We have so many more to go though, right?”
“Of course Hobi. I love you.”
“I love you more baby,” he replied before kissing you firmly.
Park Jimin
“Mommy!” Noah yells as he runs into your and Jimin’s shared bedroom and you look up from your phone to see him climbing onto the bed with you.
“What is it Noey?” You chuckled as he pushed his way into your lap.
“Made you a card at school,” he said as he held a piece of construction paper that was folded in half out to you.
“Aw,” you cooed as you took the card from him and opened it. Inside, there was Noah’s chicken scratch handwriting and even though you couldn’t read it, you knew that it was for Valentine’s Day because of the multiple heart shaped stickers that he had added.
“Like it?” Noah wondered and you looked up at him with a wide grin.
“I love it,” you confirmed with a nod. “You did such a good job Noey.”
“Love you Mommy.”
“Oh, I love you too,” you said before gathering him up in a tight hug. Just then, Jimin walked into the bedroom and smiled at the sight of the two of you together.
“And what did I miss? It must’ve been good if you’re giving out hugs,” Jimin laughed.
“Noah made me a Valentine’s Day card at school,” you said as you held the card out for Jimin to see. Jimin walked over to the bed and took it from you, taking a few seconds to look over it.
“This is so nice mini me,” Jimin praised him, making Noah blush lightly. “But where’s mine?”
“Sorry, only for Mommy,” Noah giggled.
“Oh, the level of disloyalty in this household is ridiculous,” Jimin sighed dramatically, making you roll your eyes at him.
Kim Taehyung
“You look like such a grandpa,” you giggled as you looked at Taehyung through the viewfinder of your phone. Since you and Taehyung hadn’t been able to do anything super special for Valentine’s Day the past few years, the two of you decided to take a trip together in order to celebrate this year.
“What? How?” He wondered as he looked down at himself.
“You just look like a grandpa who came to a museum to visit and he’s having his grand kid take a picture of him so that he can post it on the social media page that he barely uses,” you explained.
“First off, that was all oddly specific. Second, are you trying to imply that I look old?” He gasped dramatically, making you giggle as you shook your head.
“Of course not baby,” you smiled. “Now, smile.” He did as you instructed, putting his teeth on display as you snapped a few photos.
“Let me see,” he said as he walked over to you and you turned your phone towards him so that he could look. “That looks good.”
“What do you wanna do now?” You asked as you worked on sending the pictures over to his phone. “Personally, I’m starting to get pretty hungry.”
“I am too but not for food,” he murmured and you looked over at him with a small smile.
“I was being serious Kim Taehyung.”
“I was too,” he laughed.
“How about you feed me first and then we can take care of your problem?” You suggested.
“Oh, I’ll feed you something alright,” he teased and he yelped loudly when you smacked his butt.
Jeon Jungkook
“Ok, that wasn’t fair!”
“Y/N-ah, just admit that I’m better than you,” Jungkook sighed as the two of you got off of the ice in the ice rink and walked over to a nearby bench in order to take your skates off.
“You cheated in that race and you know it,” you shot back.
“How did I cheat? We literally started at the same time and went in the same direction.”
“There was a groove in the ice that didn’t let me take off right away and you wouldn’t come back when I said let’s start over,” you explained.
“I am not responsible for any racing conditions,” he chuckled. The two of you got your skates off and put your regular shoes back on before heading up to the rental booth to return them.
“You know, you could’ve let me win this one time,” you spoke up “It is Valentine’s Day.”
“I’m so tired of you using that as an excuse today,” Jungkook laughed. “‘You should bring me ice skating, it’s Valentine’s Day. You should have your parents watch Ava, it’s Valentine’s Day.’,” he said, mocking what you’d said to him earlier in the day.
“Don’t act like you’re not grateful for the Ava thing,” you pointed out, making him laugh and shrug.
“Touche.” After the two of you returned your skates, you intertwined your fingers with Jungkook’s as the two of you headed for the exit.
“So, was this Valentine’s Day up to par?” Jungkook asked as he looked over at you.
“Almost.”
“What do you mean, almost?” He asked exasperatedly.
“It would be perfect if we could get lamb skewers before we go home,” you giggled.
“Thanks for reminding me why I married you,” He grinned, leaning over and kissing you.
