I wanted to ask you if BTS and the girlfriends have ever discussed about the guys using cosmetics or them looking 'prettier'. I love BTS and whenever I talk about them there is no moment when people have to say that "they look like girls" which makes me upset. Honestly, I was hesitant to like BTS for this issue, but it made me realize how society makes us develop our own prejudices and we shouldn't be judging others appearances. Sorry for bringing this topic, I just wanted your opinion about it.

I don’t think we have explicitly included this in our fics, mainly just because most of our scenarios take place ‘behind closed doors’ as it were, and we don’t see the boys as wearing makeup when in private with their girlfriends. I do think some would be more into ‘skincare’ routines that they do in private. For example, I think Jimin and J-Hope would be likely to spend a long time cleansing and moisturising every night, even with their girlfriend present, whereas I think Suga would not really bother when alone with Jeong-sun. Likewise, certain members might enjoy doing their evening routine with their girlfriend (with them doing it at the same time in the bathroom) - I think Jimin and V would especially like this. 

I agree they shouldn’t be based on appearance and I think the criticisms mostly come from countries where it is less ‘normalised’ for guys to wear makeup or have an extensive skincare routine. I think in Korea the view of masculinity, like it is in every country, is slightly different. I obviously enjoyed Namjoon and Yoongi putting down B-Free and those other guy’s criticisms on them wearing makeup. However, I do think some of the members might not really enjoy having to wear make up or the expectation that they HAVE to look pretty all the time. It’s sort of a double-edged sword where they want the freedom to wear it without being judged but at the same time might not really want to. 

Likewise, I think some members really embrace being seen as ‘heart-throbs’, whereas others would prefer to be known just for their music. 

It’s an interesting one. I definitely think it would be more interesting to discuss their physical insecurities as part of fics in future, or to do an multi-member fic that focusses on that, but we will have to discuss. It would probably only be a small segment for each member. I think even after being together for a long time, the members in our headcanons are sometimes still surprised by how much their girlfriends find them attractive. For example, in our fic ‘De-Stress’ which is set post-marriage, Yoongi suddenly realises that Jeong-sun gets just as much pleasure from absently massaging his - erm - thing, as he does when he absently squeezes her thighs or boobs, and this is after knowing each other for 5 years (although, they were only ‘together’ for 2 of those 5 years).
