A/N: No one has requested Valentine’s Stuff yet so I wrote something for my ultimate bias because wow I love this man.
Namjoon winced slightly as his hand came in contact with the counter. Though it was well wrapped in a bandage, that didn’t mean it didn’t hurt to the touch. He was only trying to make the holiday special for you, but he was clumsy in the kitchen and everyone knew that. That was why when Jin offered to finish what Namjoon had started; there was no way he could protest. Especially since Jin wanted to make it special for you two, as well. Out of all of the members of Bangtan, Jin claimed that, besides Namjoon, he loved you most since you were always willing to eat what he made. Plus, Jin already knew what all your favourite foods were and how you liked them. Now, that it had come to serving them, though, Namjoon still had no idea what he was doing so Jin had to help to stay for that, too.
“You could have picked something you actually know how to do to give her for a present,” Jin said shaking his head. “She knew you couldn’t cook when she began dating you.”
Namjoon almost agreed but he knew that above all, having a nice dinner with him was one of the things you loved most. This was no surprise since most of your meals were without him, or rushed because he had a schedule to keep. Even at night, when you brought food over to his dorm, you still had the other boys around so you weren’t really alone. This was different. You would be alone with him for the first time in a long time that wasn’t just in bed and he knew how happy you would be with that and he would be happy, too. He had something important he wanted to tell you, anyway, and he would have rather you’d been happy and comfortable with him when he told you or asked you, for that matter.
He bit his lip as he watched Jin pour noodles into bowls for you two and set them on the table. He almost jumped when he heard the door open.
“Ah! She can’t see you here, hyung, or she might think I forgot and I’m just hanging out with you,” Namjoon moved frantically to make sure the bowls looked just perfect on the table.
Even he almost couldn’t believe how nervous he was. Jin surely couldn’t. He’d never seen Namjoon so nervous about anything before. Even when it came to performing, Namjoon kept a calm head because he had to since he was the leader.
“Jin, do you really think she’ll like it?” He asked quietly.
You knew something was up in your apartment when you saw the rose petals by the front door and the candles on the table. The food that was there was still hot and after putting your bag on the table you could fully appreciate the smell.
“Joonie?” You asked as you ventured further into your home.
Jin scrambled past you until he realized what had just happened and stopped. He slowly turned towards you and waved leaning close and giving you a kiss on the cheek before nodding towards the doorway.
“Don’t tell Namjoon you saw me, okay? I’m going,” Jin said before slipping out the door.
You couldn’t help but smile widely as Jin slipped out the door and you ventured to your room. You could hear fumbling around in there for a moment before calling out to him.
“Joonie-oppa!” You called as your hand fell on the handle.
“One second! I’m getting changed!” He said as you opened the door.
You tried hard to contain your laughter as you watched him try to get himself free from his stuck position. You moved closer to him and helped him placing your hand on his torso causing a small giggle to leave his body.
“What?” you asked quietly as you watched him laugh so hard his eyes snapped shut and a realization hit you. “You’re ticklish?”
He shook his head quickly as he pulled his shirt down over his torso, “Anyways, you should get changed and then we’ll have dinner and then I have a surprise for you.”
Your eyebrows furrowed at his words. You knew you were doing something special since today was Valentine’s Day, but you didn’t know there would be something extra. You would’ve been thankful to just have dinner with your boyfriends quietly by yourselves. You didn’t need anything extra from him but the fact that he was going out of his way to give you something special made you feel nice. You noticed the bandage on his hand and almost shook your head. That wasn’t something new for him. Out of the two of you, he somehow managed to be the clumsiest.
After you’d changed and walked out again everything had changed. The room was filled with glittering lights and bowls full of fresh spring water and more delicate pink petals that cast a pink glow over the room and you couldn’t help but smirk. Of course, he loved this day because he loved pink. You took a step closer to the table going to sit down but he stopped you pulling out the chair for you and giving a little bow.
“My lady,” he said as he kissed you on the cheek.
A small giggle left your lips as you sat down, “Thank you,”
He sat across from you at the table and you bit your lip as he handed you a pair of chopsticks.
“So, how did you hurt your hand?” You asked quietly as you stirred your noodles.
“I- um,” his plump bottom lip slipped between his teeth and you watched as his cheeks turned slightly pink and his dimples appeared. “Well, I was trying to cook and I kind of injured myself.”
You bit your lip hiding a smile. You both knew he couldn’t cook but the fact that he’d tried to for you was really sweet. You reached across the table taking his bandaged hand and kissing it softly.
“Thank you, Namjoon,” You said quietly.
His cheeks turned an even darker shade of pink and you couldn’t help but blush, as well. Though, you two had been dating for almost two years, now, you still got nervous around each other and you could still make him blush. No matter how much the rest of Bangtan made fun of you both for it, you knew how special it was since other couples sometimes lost their spark after only a few months. That wasn’t that case for you two, though. It was special.
“Jagi, I have something I want to ask you,” He said quietly.
You nodded slowly. You had no idea what he was going to ask you about. It couldn’t have been marriage since you’d talked about that from before and agreed that Bangtan was too busy, right now for that. He had tried to convince you they weren’t but you refused to let wedding plans get in the way of his career and let him regret it later on. Your worries disappeared though when a rectangular box and not a square one came from under the table. He held it out to you and you smiled softly as you took it. Though you two had promised not to exchange present this year, you knew he would get you something, anyways. Jimin had ruined his surprise days ago. He had told you accidentally and then made you promise to keep it a secret which meant you couldn’t get him anything back but you would find a way to make it up to him. You always did.
The box itself was small and wrapped in pastel pink paper with a small tag attached to it. You read the words to yourself in your head as you looked at him.
TO: Jagi
FROM: Joonie :)
Your face almost hurt from the big smile that crossed it when you read the tag. You looked up at him for a moment before shaking your head slightly.
“I thought we weren’t buying gifts?” you said quietly.
“I know but,” he shrugged. “Open it, anyways, Jagi. I wanted to get you something special since it’s been two years since we were together.”
You nodded slowly and lifted the cover from the box revealing a glittering string of jewels. It was a tennis bracelet. One you had been looking at in the window of a shop pretty much since you had moved into Seoul and closer to work and Bangtan’s dorm. It had disappeared from the window before and you weren’t sure who had bought it but it made you slightly sad that it hadn’t been you. You almost began tearing up at the present when he reached across the table and took your hand lifting the bracelet from the box. You held your wrist up as he put it on for you and then held your hands. Your fingertips met his lips one by one as he held eye contact with you. He squeezed your hand lightly after and looked at the bracelet one more time.
“It looks beautiful on you.” He said smiling. “You have good taste. I mean, that was obvious, though, since you’re dating me,”
You burst into laughter as he smiled proudly raising an eyebrow at you before winking. He was right, though. From the first moment you’d met him, you’d liked him best. Not just more than the rest of Bangtan but more than anyone else who you’d met before him and you wanted him to stay that way. Even after two years, it was no different. You still loved him more than you could have loved anyone else.
You tilted your head slightly before rising to get up from the table.
“Where are you going?” he asked raising an eyebrow.
You took a step forward kissing his forehead before smirking.
“I’m going to thank Jin for dinner,” you said laughing before sauntering off to the kitchen.
