Whump is a Beautiful Bloody Thing

Hello friends, may I interest you in some whump?

People's experiences differ, but for me whump is a term used interchangeably with hurt/comfort (h/c) and is one of the most common tropes in fanfiction. In the way that some fans detached from any single specific media property and became fans of slash, many have also become fans of whump. We like to see characters in pain - we like to see our characters in pain. Fandom affinity breeds a sense of ownership, shared though it is, so that on top of the normal pleasures of a TV character going Through It, fanfic or art or carefully curated video clips of our blorbo adds an extra layer of emotional attachment to the pain they are feeling. And some fans like to watch the world burn.

Böyle yaşamak o kadar hoşuma gidiyor ki, ölücekmiş gibi yaşamak her an ölebilecekmiş gibi. Dünyadan en kötü anımda kurtulma ihtimalim var gibi yaşamak.Belkide ondan hiç iyileşemiyorum bir senedir ondan durmadan hastayım çünkü iyileşmek istemiyorum ki. O kadar uzun zamandır tüm hislerden o kadar uzağım ki; sevgiden, aşktan, arkadaşlıktan, kıskançlıktan hatta nefretten bile.. O kadar uzun zamandır insanları nefret etmeye bile değer görmüyorum ki o yüzden galiba bu hisse bu kadar tutundum. Ölüyor gibi yaşamaya. Hayatın ucundan sallanıyor gibiyim sadece bi ağaç dalına tutunmuş tek elim var heran bırakabilicek boşluğa düşebilecek, kurtulabilecek gibi. Düşebilme ihtimaline o kadar vuruldum ki. Mazoşistlik felan değil ama kendimi 19.yüzyıl yazarları gibi hissetmek, tüm o melankolinin içinde boğulma noktasına gelene kadar nefessiz batık kalmak hayatta tek şey gibi elimde olan. Beni öldürebilecek olanın yaşama sebebim olması ne kadar garip değil mi.
