“If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your path.” -Buddha
"Life is like a river, it keeps on flowing, ever changing."
--Buddha
Happiness comes when your work and your words are beneficial to yourself and others. A man should first direct himself in the way he should go. Only then should he instruct others. Being deeply learned and skilled, being well trained, and using well-spoken words is good luck. No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path. An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea.

Buddha Teachings on Self-Discipline
No matter whether you want to achieve big or small things in your life but the main factor responsible through which you can attain great things in your life is through self-discipline. Self-discipline is the main factor that has been taught by Buddha to have a successful life. There are various factors which motivate people to achieve success in their life.
One can motivate themselves by various means, but all the tactics will fail if you don’t have discipline in your life. Because in the end what matters to lead a successful and motivated life is a discipline that is hard to find in people nowadays.
There are various bits of advice Buddha has given on self-discipline and some of them are: -
Consciousness
It is mandatory to be conscious about the work that you are doing because only then you can correctly divert your focus. Mostly, the time invested in a work is not done consciously therefore there will be less mindfulness in the work that is been done. Most of the time when someone is indulged in studies or their office work, in between they start using their phone and waste their time, and after a couple of minutes they have this realization that they have wasted the maximum of the time which might have utilized fruitfully. Therefore, to avoid such situations it is mandatory to keep reminding ourselves that every minute is precious and you have to prioritize the work that you are willing to do. This cannot happen in one single day and it needs constant practice to make it a routine in your life without any failure.
Overcoming Problems
There are many times in life where one prioritize the work in a wrong manner and more importance is given to the work which has not to be completed on time and the important work remains unfinished for a longer time and eventually, it will turn your success to failure within a short span of time. Buddha has clearly stated to control the emotion and the urges for the wrong things so that the self-discipline would be increased, and you can achieve anything in your life in a hassle-free manner.
Constant Practice
There is nothing that can’t be conquered, the only difference is some things might take a long time and the others might take a shorter time for that. In the Buddhist teachings, it has been clearly stated that self-discipline can be attained by constant practice. It is important to remember that you have to be disciplined in every aspect of life.
You can prepare yourself by being disciplined in the small work that you do in your life so that when difficult circumstances come into your life it will be easy for you to control yourself and be more focused and disciplined in your work.
Creating a Goal
In the Buddha teachings, it has been clearly mentioned to have a proper goal in your life because only then you can set certain targets and work for it. No matter how hard the situation is if you have a clear vision for it then you can achieve the difficult things peacefully and easily. You can set a certain time limit for the goal to achieve and make strategies according to it in life to lead a successful life
Having a goal in life will always motivate you to achieve something greater in life because at that time you will not focus on the shortcomings of life rather than you will focus on the happiness that you will get after achieving that goal in your life.
By following the above norms one can lead a well-disciplined life even in the hectic schedule.
Buddha Teachings on How to Tackle with Anger
In Buddhist practice one of the main hurdle faced in life is anger and if it is conquered properly then half of the battle of the life is automatically won. The anger can create many difficulties in life which would be really difficult to handle. Anger can develop many dangerous situations in life which the human being would not want to face in their normal life.
Anger can be explored in any of the circumstances which could be difficult to control by themselves in maximum situations. Anger can come out through words or actions. If in anger a person speaks nonsense then it is difficult to get the words back and the other person will emotionally be broken down and hurt. And in the other case if the anger comes out through action then it may lead to really serious and difficult situations such as the murder of the other person. Therefore to save yourself from the difficult situations of anger there are Buddhist teachings that will be helpful for you. Such as-
Meditation
If you are mentally healthy then the hurdles in your life will be eventually resolved. But as a normal being, it is difficult at times to control the emotions and anger as well. Therefore for a calm and peaceful mind, it is important to practice meditation in the daily routine as per Buddhist teachings. If the mind will be relaxed and peaceful then that person will not take impulsive actions in his life which will create more difficult circumstances which will be hard to handle.
Meditation will help a person to take decisions precisely without any hatred for anyone. The decision without any grudge or conflict will always end up benefiting that person in a numerous manner.
Kindness
When a person would have kindness in his behavior then the anger in them will automatically get decreased to a greater extent. When one person will behave kindly then the other person will also behave in the exact manner which will bring peace of mind to both of them. Showing kindness to the needy people always benefits a person because there is no anger and there is generosity due to which the other person would be highly satisfied with the kind gesture. Behaving in a kind way will give you more chances in your life to achieve success.
Mindfulness
There are many people who are extremely busy in their normal routine and they are not mindful of the activities they are doing in their life. If one has to win the battle against anger then they should be more conscious of the work they are doing. If there will be more concentrated in the work done, then the anger issues will not come up so easily and in some situations where it is normal to get angry, you will use your full potential to analyze the situation consciously and control the anger.
Patience
In the Buddhist teachings, it has been clearly stated that if the person gets angry in any of the situations in his life then he should wait for the entire one day which is a reality check of patience. With the high patience level in life, it will be extremely easy to control the anger. It might be difficult in the initial days to behave patiently but with constant practice, the patience in the human being will automatically proliferate which will decrease the anger in the human being and he would have more control over himself.
Substitution Method
In the Buddhist teachings, the substitution method means substituting the negative thoughts with the positive one so that the positivity in a human being increases and he has more control over themselves and can control anger easily.
With the above-mentioned method of Buddhist teachings, one can easily overcome anger issues and have better control over themselves.
