Insectember Day 17: Diaphora mendica, the muslin moth! They range from white to dark gray, but there's also pics of them with bicolored wings, so I went with that sort of design! The fluffy ruff also made me think of a boa, so I wanted to draw them as all fancy~ Slowly catching up on Insectember...

Ok so at some point I drew some anthropomorphic versions of bugs and these are my last ones.

The first one is supposed to be a northern warrior wasp! :D

I kinda wanted to give her this sort of elegant but annoyed appearance. She's a kind of arrogant but gossiping with her should be fun lol

The second one's a cuckoo wasp! I wanted her to look more soft-spoken and polite, albeit a little shy, I think she's still scold ppl if they did something wrong lol. Tbh my first sketches of her aren't here and I struggled a bit with her, but I like how she turned out! :>

A bit of a note about Declan.

He did have wings at one point in his life(as you can see in the image above)as he was born as a half fae. But his wings got torn off by a soldier of an opposing force, so in its place are 2 scars where his wings used to be.

(Yes, I used an autopsy report template, idfk why, but I chose to)

Basically, to paint the picture for you; his enemy(let's say that it was a dragonfly warrior of some kind)was able to knock him down, and before Declan could get the upper hand and stab his opponent, the opponent grabbed his arm and broke it, before then grabbing him by his wings and tearing them off with ease before throwing Declan to the ground, and leaving the once winged soldier to die on a cold autumn evening, alone and too hurt to really move much. But someone did end up finding him

Insectember Days 15 and 16! Papilio agenor, and Ceratocanthus sp.!

These ones are SUPER sketchy. The only reason the butterfly is a bit more coherent is because I drew them the day BEFORE I moved to a new apartment, while the beetle was drawn after two days of moving stuff and then working on a big commission. And I still have another two to do tomorrow before I'm caught up! Ah!!

Insectember Day 6: Paraulacizes thunbergii, a sharpshooter leafhopper! They're gonna be late to bug school!! I wanted to try a different sort of posing/angle here, based on the 'hopper' part of the leafhopper's name.
