February 2022 Bulk Ask Responses
Hey there - consider it looked up! It’s cool to see that someone else thought of the same concept back in 2009. I remember DeviantArt contests from back in the day. I never participated, but I always thought they brought out so much creativity from people. It’s neat to see the same concept as mine expressed by different artists in a variety of ways.
Thank you for the biology lesson, but I understand how evolution works in the real world.
Part of this project involves treating Pokemon like animals who age or metamorphose gradually, while using terms and concepts from the Pokemon game, such as "evolve.” This is not supposed to be a 100% scientifically accurate look at Pokemon as if they were real-world beings, but a fun take on how the pre-existing world of Pokemon might look if Pokemon did not evolve instantaneously like they do in the games and instead grew physically through their stages. Again, using "evolve" here as it is used in-game and not in biology.
Terms like "age," "mature," "grow," or "evolve" are used interchangeably in my descriptions to help show this concept, but don't worry, I understand how these terms differ in real life.
Yeah, Chryscape and many of the other bug lines that have a pupal stage illustrate this point well, I think. I know a lot of people who aren’t familiar with the concept see in-progress Pokemon lines and really miss the point and it’s frustrating to see complaints that wouldn’t apply if they understood what I was going for. But that just it makes it so much nicer when I get an ask like yours that gets it :)
Hmm.. I always aim for the midway point between stages, so typically I would say the midpoint weight, which would be around 1,102 lb for Cosmog and Cosmoem. However, I think Corlapse would function a little differently since it’s in the process of absorbing and condensing matter, which I imagine as a process that starts slow and ramps up as it goes? It’s such a slow ordeal, I don’t think Corlapse would be at 1,102 yet. I’ll say it’s open to interpretation!
Meowth. Wobbuffet. Piplup.
Uh... yup!
