Here are some old vector wallpapers I made back in December 2007, featuring several wintry enemies from Yoshi’s Island. Their names are Dr. Freezegood, Bumpty, and Thunder Lakitu. I liked the style of these wallpapers so much that I used it for several other sets.

Debut: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island

We’re back with another perfectly Yoshi’s Island bird! We’ve seen Ravens, we’ve seen Huffin’ Puffins, and here we have Bumpty! And get this- after we cover Bumpty, we STILL won’t be done with these wonderful birds!

As their name may imply, they are very easy to bump into... and they’re bouncy! They can’t hurt you. Please don’t try to hurt them. They may be penguins, but they can fly if they try hard enough! I’m so proud!

In Yoshi’s Story, they look like this. I’m sorry, Yoshi’s Story Bumpty, you’re nice on your own merits, but you are not what I am here for.

That’s the stuff. Excellent. Paper Mario introduced a whole village of Bumpties! Wouldn’t you love to live there? Mario was accused of murdering the mayor! So cozy!

Using the E-Reader, that cryptid of a GBA addon, it’s even possible to bring Bumpties into true Mario platformers! They behave exactly as they do in Yoshi’s Island, and just like in that game, Mario cannot turn them into eggs.

Finally, please enjoy this promotional art for the GBA port of Yoshi’s Island, where they recolored Raphael the Raven instead of using Bumpty’s art for some reason. I’m glad they did, though! Now we get to laugh at it!
