Morning mood after reading the past two chapters.

Since arriving at Egghead, learning more about Vegapunk’s methods of infusing devil fruits into objects is the science thing I’ve most been looking forward to, and was hoping to see a bunch of strange hybrids running around. Storing that thought for now because his theory about the mystery fruits is interesting in its own right, and can lead into learning about the infusion method later.

As for Wano connections, as early as five chapters into Act 1, Sukiyaki was shown with his little tanuki teapot, Bunbuku! Has Vegapunk been to Wano in the recent past? Orochi knew of him, as well as Doffy’s weapons trading and the SMILE chemical factories on Punk Hazard.

Back in Water 7, along side coating the bottom of Navy ships with seastone, which according to Hawkins originates in Wano, Koby brings up the devil fruit infusion method as one of Vegapunk’s recent inventions. Were Lassoo, Funkfreed, Smiley, and Bunbuku the trial runs for the Pacifistas being given devil fruit abilities? Croc worked with the WG, Spanda works with Cipher Pol, and Caesar was a research partner of Vegapunk, though how did one of the critters end up in Wano with Sukiyaki?

Bunbuku by Cattype A tanuki (also known as a raccoon dog) from a Japanese fairytale that got stuck in the form of a cooking pot while shapeshifting. The cooking pot was bought by an old man who befriended Bunbuku and together they went on to have a successful career as street performers. To be honest, the reason I didn't draw a regular tanuki is because I was timid about drawing the tanuki's balls. I should probably either get over that or find a way around that.

Tatebayashi in Gunma is the origin of the Bunbuku Chagama Japanese fairytale about a tanuki that turns into a teakettle. As a result, Morinji temple is covered in tanuki and you can read the store in installments via signs on the road leading up to it if you get off at Morinjimae station (⌒▽⌒)☆
