The Burlington County Courthouse in Mount Holly, #NewJersey was built in 1796. Its architect, Samuel Lewis, designed the building as a virtual identical twin of Congress Hall and Old City Hall, the buildings flanking Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was regularly used until 1959 when a new County office building was opened which included court facilities. The General Store/Post Office at Whitesbog Village, part of Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, in Burlington County, #NewJersey. #Whitesbog was the largest cranberry farm in New Jersey in the early 1900s and is also the place where the highbush blueberry was first successfully cultivated. This building was constructed in 1924 (to replace an earlier general store building around the corner, serving customers since 1899) and functioned until the late 1960s. Today, it still functions as a retail outlet for @whitesbogpreservation and is open on weekends. Peachfield in Westampton, #NewJersey. This #stone home was built by the Burr family - the right side in 1725 and the left side in 1732 - and remained in the family for 200 years. All but the exterior walls of the home were destroyed by fire in the late 1920s. The burned-out shell was purchased by Norman and Miriam Harker in 1931 and they worked with architect R. Brognard Oakie to restore the home to its original appearance, with a few modern touches and upgrades.
